Does anyone know who the main students of master wei were / are, other than master Sun? I’ve read some disturbing things on this forum in regards to master Sun learning from his brother.I have sketchy info at best on the 8-step lineage.What I believe to be true is master Wei passed on 8-step to master Sun with the explicit instructions that the 5 generation master should be master Economos - I’ve also heard that master Wei had 4 main students, and three of them were taught 80%, and master Sun all -
Su Yu Chang
I am not to familiar with the stories about Master Sun, and personally I don’t care much about it. Master Sun from what I have seen knows his stuff. But if you are interested in other students of Master Wei, there is Su Yu Chang of New York. He is head of the Pa Chi Tanglang Association. Master Su also teaches four other styles of mantis (mei hua, 7 star, 6 harmony, and mi men.

But Master Wei didn’t tell Master Sun to make Master Dean the 5th generation inheritor, in fact, Master Wei didn’t want Master Sun teaching white people. It is also true that besides Master Sun and people of his lineage, Master Su Yu Chang knows the more of 8 Step, than any other of Master Wei’s students. I know that Master Wei had four really good students, but I have no idea where you got the 80% from.
The disturbing things you’re hearing are false and come from about 2 people. Absolutely zero of the claims have been backed up and they poorly supported with more anger and namecalling than logic and fact.
No one is saying bad things except for people who didn’t get taught as much indoor material as they would have liked and are pissed, and rather than say something directly, they let it filter down through students. Also just because someone was a student of Master Wei’s does not mean that they are Sifu’s under him. If they are a Sifu, they will have a certificate from him and if they are Generation disciples, then they will have Generation Names in the matching order as those in the 8 Step book that has been passed down from one Master to another since Chiang Hua Long that Master Sun as current Generation Grandmaster is in possesion of. Bottom line, no certificate, no name, not a disciple.
I apologise to everybody for yet again having to straiten out all the BS posted by 2 people with multiple accounts.
And Robert, I hope you find everything your looking for, but do take into account that those taught even very little from Master Wei don’t feel that they need to regognise a fellow student, even if he did inherit the whole system. You can also call Master Sun and ask what you are curious about. Of course all these claims brought up had me asking questions and looking about, but I soon found that they were groundless and once I realized why they were doing it, it all made sense.

Main Students
Chun-Fu Lin studied under Master Wei for 33 years. Master Lin was a physical ed. teacher in Taipei and saw Master Wei every day during these years. Master Wei also briefly taught Master Lin’s two sons when they were very young.
I have been under Master Lin for 12 years and can assure that he has the complete 8 Step system. The only thing Master Lin no longer has is the 3-section-staff and other weapon Master Wei taught.
Master Lin’s picure can be seen, as Master Wei’s main student, in Wei’s green book.

It is a fact that Master Wei stopped teaching 8 step to everyone 10 years before he passed. Master Lin chin fu studyed with Master Wei for some 33 years. FACT Sun was only 13 years old when Master Wei stopped teaching. So…why would Master Wei give a style to sun at 13 years old insted of a man who trained under him for 33???
fact- You don’t know how old master Sun is and your pulling Facts right out of thin air because you were dropped kicked out of the system. Master Sun only “13”? Try 26. Oh and stop playing victim, you aren’t stripped of your rank and kicked out for not paying federation dues, you got booted for profesional misconduct, which I won’t go into so that you can save what little face you have left.
Your “facts” aren’t supported. You can either stay in fantasy land and believe everyone who tells you they too are 8 Step Grandmasters, or you can come to grips with the fact that you shot yourself in the foot and there is no going back.
Also if you think that by bashing Master Sun that other students of Master Wei will suddently like you and teach you; your both stupid and mistaken. No one is going to give you anything. If you betray your Master, don’t expect others to trust you.
If you have any questions then go ask Master Sun. I don’t have all the documents and anything else you might demand that I scan. I’m not his personal secretary, I don’t have a scanner, and I don’t take orders from has-been chumps. He has the info; ask him.
Oh and if you continue with these groundless acuasaction, have some sort of evidence, rather than demand that Master Sun prove that he’s whatever you happen to say he is. If your acuasations arent backed up, they’re not even worth reading.
also if I’m not mistaken in the Kung Fu Online rules that we all agreed to, slandering Sifu’s is against forum rules. You can give opinions, but telling blatant lies out of spite striclty goes againt KFO policy.

OK - if Master Wei STOPPED TEACHING TEN YEARS before his death in 1982 (1972), that would have allowed master Sun to have been taught by master Wei for 22 years or more (1950-1972)

I thank every constuctive opinion (8-stepsifu, bajifist, and on-jer), and really don’t have much to say about the others.The opinion that I have formulated for myself at this point is that: Master Sun is the True inheritor of 8-step, and the other students of Master Wei are not, for the simple fact that they would have had a BIG problem with Master Sun claiming he was, and wasn’t.

No Return Calls from Master Sun
I have tried to call (numerious times) Master James Sun on his personal cell phone (he gave me when he was here in sf) and i get the American chinese Fedration leave a message message and he never returns my calls about the sf school and so forth… Where is master sun, why is he not retuning my calls?
does anyone know?
This again has left me wondering why…
And if he or someother sifu would answer my questions i might have a more positive feeling toward the system. but right now things dont look good from my perspective up here in SF, california. And remeber they owe me a month of training up here.

You both know that Master Sun is not a member here, so asking him to post proof is worthless and a waste of time. Sifu Cimino is also not a member here. You seem to know Sifu Cimino so why not call his school adn talk smack. You keep asking for proof that he has the system, why don’t you post proof that he is not? We keep going in cricles here. You bad mouth Master Sun and call us a few names and tell us we are in a cult. We relpy by stating that you are full of s#!t. BFD, at class today I will ask my Sifu for the number of Master Sun’s school in CA. I do know that it is no longer in the SF area, and moving out of the area would make this cell number change.
