Riiight. You still don’t understand the definition of troll, do you?

… Or the meaning of pacifist… She does seem to understand self-marderdom, though.

This thread is truly amazing.I laughed so hard.
BL Please… Please… Please…
“DON’T come to Sydney”

at the end of the day, it’s only a forum and you kids crack me up… gotta laugh ha

btw of some kindly folk here…you can’t oppose me and be benificent, I’m the only matyre 'round here .you got it!!!

martyrdom requires a cause, yet the only cause i have seen is the apparent goal of challenging engrish.com for supremacy.

chaps – remember the age-old expression:

If you can’t do, teach.

hmm   .as long as we’re learning i really don’t care where the information comes from…

hey that alone should qualify me for the above right?? :stuck_out_tongue:

no.

well there we have it. officially not a matyre ( breaths sigh of relief)

thx for clearing that up

Seriously, what is your native language?

i was referring to qualifications for teaching. martyrdom (or matyredom, if you wish to use your bastardization of the english language) is something you can settle on your own.

no desire to matyre… and on the quals, not that you’re anyone I should need to justify education nor employment to, nor should anyone else here ( unless related to health or fitness etc.). you mean the quals that are getting me work in universities ???.. hmm… thought that’s what we talking about…

now can we bring the class back tothe forum please??? trite discussions are time and space wasters

A lot of monkeys are ‘employed’ by universities.

At least they’ve taught you how to use a computer.

as are alot of very adept people… what’s your point??

could you get a job there if you wanted???

retorical and really, what are you all saying, that the folks here without more education are less valid???.. judgement is b*tch, hate to be on the other end of it…

What universities would those be?

now we’re getting a little personal. I’m just perusing offers for now and negotiating…but there have been offers for some time regardless.

does it matter???

Well, Chinese universities will accept just about any native English speaker to teach English. My wife lived in China for 7 months teaching English and Economics, and she is qualified in neither.

  … how did she get away with that???

It’s true though, alot of esl ( english as second language) teaching jobs are easy to come by here, but at a uni level, I think you need to be a lil experienced ha. ( well, you’d think you would)… teaching can be an excerise in confidence boosting or breaking at the best of times, and I’ve seen many a less experienced teacher fail miserabley. I hate to go in unarmed ( educationally / experiencetially ) myself, but you’re right. Proves little ha.

Well, she signed up for a programme to teach in China. She has a BA. in communications, but no formal quals in teaching English or Economics (yet, she is doing a grad Dip. Ed.). She taught at the technical university in Jilin, and won a medal from the university for teaching excellence.

Obviously not. If (hypothetically speaking) you were offered a job, then they obviously take someone with a very limited education. Indeed someone who’s basic command of the subject they are supposed to be teaching is woefully inadequate. And by “who’s” I don’t mean “who is” ;).
