Besides Shuai-Chiao, what are the other styles assoicated with the people of the steppe (Manchuria, Mongolia, and NW China)? Are there any schools that preserve these teachings? Are there any good links for info or articles concerning this martial culture?

There is Mongolian wrestling that is distinct from Shuai Jiao…I cannot help you much more…
mongolian wrestling, i think it is much different from shuai shiao. More streanght oriented.

What about swordsmanship? Is it like Chinese swordwork or some thing else?
The spear?
Mounted archery?
I hear stories of these traditions being preserved, but I am having difficulty finding info.

Mongolians are still the kings of mounted archery…they also rule in hunting with falcons.
I have seen mongolian swords, they are shorter than chinese swords,broader and heavier, they look a little bit like Emei swords…I guess they were mostly used for cuts and to fight on horseback, but I have never really seen them manipulated…
