I noticed that a Master Cheuk Fung teaches what he calls Yi Chuan Gung Fu in San Francisco.
I found his web page, with some video clips.
quote:
Master Fung is a direct lineage disciple in the Hop Gar system and is internationally respected for his expertise in Mok Gar, Southern Dragon, and Tung Be systems of kung fu as well. He is well known for his subtle and explosive internal power in Yi Chuan. He has incorporated an Esoteric Buddhist Chi Kung method to attune energy for the benefit of his students.
I’m new to CMA. But to me that looked a little hoaky. I just looked at a couple clips, but it looked like a bunch of people jumping backwards. He may not be a fake, but it did look kinda weird.
Yes, this is the absolute real deal. People exposed to real qi power will fly from their attacker, just like cartoon characters. As opposed to that fake qi stuff that just looks like a real hard punch.
I have no desire to call this “fake” but it does look a little suspect.
If you watch the clip with him sitting in the chair - it is a series of 4 demonstrations of power. In the third one - the “attacker” slips a little as he tries to get traction with his shoes on the floor so he can throw himself back.
I will not fully judge the person because I was not there and did not cross hands with him, but from my experience with the internal so far, some one will get blasted a distance like that for one reason, the person got a good pushing angle on them and let them have it. This Chi blast however, seems unreal, and do to cooperation.
My master expressly says that chi is for defense, like an added shield and is against such claims. It is alsways done against willing students, then an “outsider” comes in and it doesn’t work.
The people that get pushed away seem to stamp their feet for no martial art reason , ie just for affect to make it seem more powerful, anyone else notice that?
They have to stamp their feet to dissipate the huge concentration of chi that the master has just imaprted upon them, if they didn’t stamp they’d be dead in a day or two.
I do believe in chi or Qi or whatever else you want to call it. I have felt it before. However, not like that. I have never had any so-called “Master” perform any demonstration like that on me. When I am there personally to see demonstrations like the ones in these clips, I try the volunteer, but they never select anyone other then their own students.
As far as these particular video clips…Well all the body mechanics and reactions I see point to them jumping back rather then being “blown” back.
There are no violent moevments as there would be if there was a sudden “burst”. Everything issmooth and gracefull. I don’t care how well trained you are, at the very least your head would do a small whip action when hit with a blast strong enough to push you backwards.
Also, in many of the clips you can see them make small steps or hip turns in order to get a better positions to be able to jump back.
Finally, in the way I undersand chi flow and energy flow to work, that “stomp to get rid of the energy” is wrong. In the way I understand it, you would have to throw a strike in the direction you are traveling to allow the energy to continue flowing in the same direction and out of your body. BTW, I also don’t believe that you must dispurse the energy or it will kill you.
I’m sorry, I just can’t believe that this is the real thing.
Yes, unless this guy knows something that everyobdy else doesn’t. I’m not going to say outright that he’s a fake though. I’d be pretty red faced if he suddenly came out and proved tp everyone that it works…
I can’t believe that some of you believe that sh1t!
I watched the clips, they were bullsh1t!
I can’t believe that you so called chi masters on this forum wouldn’t be all over this guy for being a BS artist and bringing disgrace to your style!
On of you Hsing-I people should go and kick his a$$!
That’s exactly the kind’ve crap I’d like to see gone from CMA, and you chi-hippies should too because it makes you look bad.
Again, I’ll reiterate something that I posted earlier… My Sihing is a research physicist working in research and development for a base material company for semi conductors. He’s open to the idea and notion of chi and some of the claims of chi-gung masters. But those video clips were CRAP!
wow, they both seem to be making tons of money at it too.
GOOD 4 THEM!
If they are making tons of cash, good for them.
I heard moonie is making like a hundred thou a year at this. sounds like great money to me.
He gets to travel all over the world, meet nice friendly folk, and then he comes to these boards and mocks all the penniless nameless wannabees.
Maybe 1 day I’ll be a Grandmaster, and make tons of cash, and be on magazine covers, and hang out with famous people too,
and travel all over the world for free.
