The only movie I cared for with Jay Chou was Initial D, the drifting in the movie was pretty cool and besides Wong Chow San played his dad.
I must be bored!
uh yeah if you read my post. and my other post then you would know there is no problem with him at all. i think your the one who needs a chill pill.
Doug we chatted before and I know you seem like a friendly guy.
And although the topic should be apart of a different section of the forum they take issue with the fact that you come across like the Forum Police!
The Mod’s would (over time) simply come and say “it belong there” and simply move it.
But you my friend is there at Post#2 harping on people a little. No offense intended just my two cents.
Ip Man the movie
Hello everyone,
the videos of the movie above is here: http://www.wing-chun.ws/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=239-ip-man-trailer-bio&catid=36-giatacomments&Itemid=58 ![]()
I guess it’s just me, but something about this movie doesn’t seem to work for me. Maybe when I see the actual film, versus clips, I’ll have a different opinion. I’m just not expecting too much. :o
Cheers,
Bill
As kung fu flicks go its certainly entertaining unless ur japanese then it might seem a bit of a p***take:)
Its on the internet now but it might be worth waiting to see it on the big screen…i couldn’t wait ![]()
Dont take the movie too seriously as its probably more fiction than fact and you will wont be disappointed.
Now expect your class attendances to double ![]()
i wanna take wing chun for some reason LOL

Ha ha…so that you can gain a belief of superiority over other MAs and a Master’s degree in Politics ![]()
But…but…
It is the most superior martial art out there - scientifically proven through structure and all our Sifu’s Sifus performing challenge matches!
I don’t have to put in the work! It was already done for me! (TIC)
this movie just hit the streets of china this past week or so. I got a copy, but it didnt work, and only saw on the net now that it has only been released in china about 12 days ago (though I can swear I’ve seen the posters even before that … ).
Will wait another week or so to get a better quality of the dvd.
anyways, heres the trailor. http://www.ipman-movie.com/main_en.html
btw - the release of the movie is what sparked the argument between Wu jing and the Wing chun community in HK
Eddie:
It’s not uncommon for a DVD of an anticipated movie in China to hit DVDs a month before theatrical release. Somebody gets their hands on a studio copy, pirates the hell out of it and voila.

IP MAN - the movie
I was able to see the movie in Cantonese. Although I don’t speak Cantonese, other than martial arts terms… I loved it. For me, its the sheer idea of having a movie dedicated to Yip Man, and therefore our art, that is so exciting. I think I was more excited about seeing IP MAN than my wife was of seeing Sex & The City… and that’s saying ALOT!.
