i need motivation!

this hasn’t happened to me for ages but…

now that it’s turning into winter my body wants to hibernate, i generaly feel tired, i went for a run when i had a cold and i felt really bad for a few days, i’m at the age where everyone i know is turning 18 so there’s huge drinking sessions every few days. i’m at college, and i’m working in an office evening and weekends.

i’m going to start running in the mornings like i did in the summer at about 6 in the morning, i’ll start that when i’ve got rid of my cold!

does anyone know how i can tell my body that i’m not a hamster and i don’t need to hibernate?

really what i need is some motivation to get ack into a routine.

Just do it.

once you start to workout, you may re-motivate yourself. On days, that I don’t want to train, I do it anyway. Once I start, I’m glad that I did.

What I did

When I began to work out frequently again just recently, I created my way of motivation. I took a picture of me I had scanned in the PC, and put my face over some body of a guy in really good shape. So each time I see that photo, I think that it is me and not whoever it really was and it helps motivate me to get in better shape.

I also decided who I wanted to show myself off to. Seems self centered to do this, but I know a girl I wanted to impress and have a picture of her in my wallet. Each time I work out, I take the photo with me into the gym and stare at it while I work out. Helps motivate me also because then I can show her my body then tell her she will never get it.

Hot girls increase testosterone. Some of my best workouts have been on days where there are gorgeous girls in the gym. Ok, that happens infrequently (when I’m not at school), so I could definately tell a difference when they were there :slight_smile: Hahahaha. No I’m serious. Part of the reason there weren’t many is cuz I worked out at like 11pm during the summer, and most hot girls don’t workout then.

Whatever. Hot girls increase test production. Try it yourself. Check out some internet porn or something before a workout. I’m not joking. Don’t spank it or anything, cuz that would leave you tired, just look and feel the test surge.

Damn i need to be studying now.

Women that are stronger than you will make you work harder too. If you ever used to keep up with WWF, you may know who Jackie is. She used to wrestle locally in my city under the name Ms. Texas, and we worked out at the same gym…That chick is strong. It’s been about three years or so since I’ve seen her, so I can’t remember exactly what she was pushing, but she’s a strong one!

IronFist, I didn’t know that a hot girl helped. I just had the picture there because it just helped me to concentrate on one of the reasons I suddenly started to work out again.

I bet I will be getting stronger even faster now that I know this! There are LOTS of hot girls at my gym. Some who work there and some who work out. Yesterday, this incredibly attractive woman got on the tread-mill right next to me. I nearly fell of when she did. :eek:

I know the idea of this is going to suck. If you are drinking pretty frequently and staying up to party, its just going to affect you! You can either cut back on the alcohol or work out harder! But I can feel it the next morning if I have even one drink the night before. I don’t even need a buzz for this to happen. Its not a hangover either, just a feeling of fatigue.

On top of this, your pulling two jobs right now. You’re part time job at your office, and school, which if done correctly is another full time job.

18-23 is a tough age, period, cause you don’t want to miss out on the fun, but now unlike others (that maybe aren’t even working) you are also adding Martial Arts into the equation! Your going to feel a little fatigued but try to prioritize your activites.

The healthier you get the better you WILL feel. Running is good. Try to devolop a workout schedule, and keep to it. When I first started learning I made a video up of a bunch of Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan etc, fight scnenes. When I didn’t feel like training or I was sluggish, I would put the tape in and after being in awe I would ask myself,“How did they get thier skill and what would they do?”

When you do get into a routine it gets easier.
