I train in nanaimo, my sifu’s name was bob (forget his last name). He was an ******* anyway, i’m mainly self taught since i have an artificial leg, I find it easier to teach myself, my instructors never really taught me much because of my disability. I’ve learned a hell of a lot more on my own since i quit taking classes wich probably seems strange to many of you ![]()
I haven’t been training for long, only 8 months, i practise hard, and really enjoy it ![]()
My training hours
In the morning I do and hour and a half of jumping rope, balance and running. Then in class I am there for atleast 3 hours.
5 minutes all up
Whole-body warmup (important) - 30 seconds
Sil Lum Tao - 1 minute (but can stretch it out to 2 minutes sometimes)
CK - 30 seconds
BJ - 30 seconds (ie 3 seconds/finger)
Dummy (blurred version) - 45 seconds
Knives - 15 seconds (7.5 seconds/knife)
Pole - 10 seconds
Whole-body cooldown - 15 seconds
As you can see, I spend a lot longer on SLT than the other forms, the way you’re meant to.
