How do you pronounce "Cung Le?"

I assume “Cung” isn’t “Kung” or else it would be spelled “Kung.” So, what is the “C” in Chinese to English Romanization?

Or just, how do you pronounce his name?

IronFist

Rhymes with ‘jungle’.

Maybe.

kung lay isnt it?

Cung Le is a vietnamese name not a chinese name. You would have to get a vietnamese guy to get all the tones…

::smacks own forehead::

Duh.

Well, I just want to know how the “C” is pronounced

IronFist

Y?

Cuz I’m curious. When I’m reading something in a magazine and I see his name I want to know how to say it in my head.

IronFist

K!

Aaaah, the old one-two!

simply replace all words you aren’t sure about with “cu nt filth” in your head. works for me.

cung le - sounds like - kung lee.

ESPN 2 rebroadcast one of his fights after the Super Bowl last night. After watching that, I think that his name should be pronounced as “kicks @ss”.

American pronunciation is “KUNG LEE”.
Vietnamese pronunciation is…hard as hell for me to even try to write it!

I’ve heard it pronounced Kong Lee

I know Cung.

It’s “Kung Lee”

If he were Chinese, and using Pinyin Romanization, it would be pronounced like Tsung.

Here are some pronunciation guides:

Yeah. But he’s not Chinese.

Iron Fist asked for a general answer to apply to reading names in magazines. He’ll probably run into a Chinese name or two that might begin with C. Might even run into one that begins with X or Zh. The correct pronunciations are not intuitive for those of us who speak English. My apologies to Cung Le if he thought I was suggesting an alternate pronunciation of his name.

Oops! No, he didn’t ask a general question. Too bad. Now he knows whether he wants to or not.
