Brief Introduction of The Martial Art Sets of The Pak Mei Clan
Great Grand Master Cheung Lai Chuen followed a total of four martial art masters to learn martial arts and lastly followed Buddish Monk Chuk Fai Wan to learn the Pak Mei Martial Arts.
He was still grateful to the first three masters of different styles and clans for teaching him. For the purpose of memorializing them Great Grand Master chose some of their best martial arts passed on to him as his teaching materials, he reserved the actions in their martial art sets but used the fundamental principles of the Pak Mei Clan to modify the usage of the waist and stands and the production of power theory. Thus, amongst the fist and kick sets of the Pak Mei Clan, there are the Pak Mei Originals, ¡§Chik Bo Biu Tsz Kuen¡¨, Gau Bo Tsui Kuen¡¨, ¡§Day Sark Kuen¡¨, ¡§Hung Sau Yap Pak Yan Kuen¡¨, Sup Bart Mor Kiu Kuen¡¨, ¡§Chi Lim Kuen¡¨ and ¡§Mount Foo Chui Lum Kuen¡¨ Passed on by Monk Chuk fat Wan, there are also the ¡§Sap Gee Kau Da Kuen¡¨ passed on by Master Shek, the ¡§Sam Mun Tsui¡¨ passed on by master Lee Yee, the ¡§Ying Jow Nim Kiu Kuen¡¨ passed on by Master Lam Ah Hop, and the ¡§ Say Mun Bart Gwer Kuen¡¨ and ¡§Tit Tiel Kuen¡¨ created by Great Grand Master Cheung Lai Chuen by mixing the vitalities of the different martial art clans which he had learned and the latter set is for practice of combat by two persons. The Great Grand Master applied the same principle to the weapon sets, therefore there are the Pak Mei originals, ¡§Tai Chun Kwan¡¨, ¡§LauYip Doe¡¨, ¡§Wui Wan Cern Gwai¡¨, ¡§Dui Chart Kwan¡¨, ¡§ Ching Loan Kim¡¨, ¡§Fate Fung Cern Doe¡¨, ¡§Ching Loan Yim Yuet Doe, ¡§Fong Tin Gig¡¨ and ¡§Yuen Bean¡¨, there are also the ¡§Chung Lan Kwan¡¨ of Lee Kar, the ¡§Sam Cha Dai Pa¡¨ of For Day and the ¡§Tin Sin Po Dun¡¨ passed on by Master Shek. Therefore along the teaching materials of the Pak Mei Clan, there are nine fist and kick sets, two fist and kick sets for the practice by two persons, eleven weapon sets, one weapon set for the practice by two persons, one fist and kick against knife set for the practice by two persons. The history of the Pak Mei Clan, the theory of the Pak Mei Martial Arts and the usage thereof are also included in the teaching materials of the Pak Mei Clan. The above-mentioned twenty-four sets are all and the only martial art sets in the Pak Mei Clan, they were passed on by Great Grand Master Cheung Lai Chuen to Grand Master Cheung Ping Lam personally. Apart from the said twenty-four sets there are no other martial art sets in the Pak Mei Clan. The above mentioned sixteen original Pak Mei Martial Art Sets were all and the only martial art sets passed on by Monk Chuk Fai Wan to great Grand Master Cheung Lai Chuen. Some people said that are some more original fist and kick Pak Mei Martial Art sets apart from the said sixteen sets is a misunderstanding and mistake.
