Heavy Rope Hell!

Ugh…

I just finished 6 rounds of 45 sec on, 30 sec off with a 5 lb heavy rope.

I feel like somebody has beat me senseless.

If you ever feel like destroying yourself and really doing a murderous interval workout, go buy a heavy rope. You’ll never regret it.

In all seriousness, I’ve got the ability to get my heart rate up to 200 and it takes a little less than 60 secs to drop back to 130ish thanks to that rope.

That and some sandbags and you will TRULY be living in hell!

Where

I’ve been looking for one but can’t find it locally. Any suggestions?

Anyone?

I found one on line but it was 50 bucks. I have a problem paying 10 bucks a pound for some rope.

Just me?

You ever try the Davies eight minutes of He||? It’s pretty funn as well.

Yeah, they’re about $50. Well worth it though, considering it’s portable, requires no other equipment, and a minimum of space, and it’s BRUTAL.

Don’t get the kind with the swivel in the handle… that’s cheating.

Cheap heavyrope alternative

Just pick up a length of chain at Home Depot.

Two pieces of dowel, 2 big eye-bolts, voila, heavy rope.

want it heavier? Get a thicker chain. Afraid of it? Wrap a towel around the central, wack-you-in-the-back-of-the-head portion of the chain.

Just gotta love resurrecting old threads…

I worked out with my 5 pound heavy rope for the first time last night. 6, 30 second sets with a 30 second break in-between each. It doesn’t seem like much, but it was totally devastating. At the end, my heart rate was about 180. My upper body was pretty well spent.

Thanks for the recommendation, Merryprankster, it was well worth the money.
