Pocky are chocolate or strawberry covered pretzel things that you can buy at Japanese supermarkets. Mmmmm I’m eating some now.
What about “Mochi?” They are dough-covered ice cream balls. Why do Japanese people get such cool treats?!

My in-laws brought some of this back when they were living in Japan. Nothing special to me, but the kids sure did like them.

Pocky
Yup… they sell it in Chinatown here in Atlanta & I normally pick some up when I’m there. It’s plain, but for some reason good.

Pocky is the greatest, if you want another japanese dessert that is really good try yun-yun
Amitabha!!
they also come in chocolate-my daughters love’em, also there are these things just like it, but you dip them in chocolate sauce that comes in a little cup.
Of course.
FYI, “pocky” is so called because of the supposed sound it makes when you break it. ![]()

Pocky Rocks!!
kaga, is it called yun yun, because all I see are “Yan Yan”. I can’t get enough of that chocolaty goodness! I don’t have to go anywhere special anymore (We used to have to wait until our “fix” arrived in a care package from Okinawa - my mom’s side), they carry both Pocky, and Yan Yan at Albertson’s. It’s over priced, but it’s closer than going to Chinatown when I need the quick fix. Man I’m lazy, Chinatown is only 15 - 20 minutes away. I should grab some after I’m done sparring next time ![]()

I’ve been living in Osaka for over a year now and I still haven’t gotten used to the wasabi flavoured chips, soy sauce Pringles, curry doughnuts and a sports drink with the name ‘POcari Sweat’! not to mention the lack of Wing chun schools…
but seeing tough ass Pride fighters acting like idiots in banana commercials always cracks me up
btw mochi is made from rice, not ice cream.

Are you serious about where the name came from? I never knew that. I’ll order some from waidan’s friend’s site and pay attention when I break a piece. Imagine if bones made that noise - pocky “ow, my arm!” ![]()
