footwork

I train in 7* mantis and believe my footwork to be lacking. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about some exercises I could do to improve my footwork.

I don’t have alot of experience but you could try these.

Keeping the wait on the balls of your feet, stand in front of a post of something similar. Pretend that the post represents an opponent. Then stand at the edge of you range (should be a couple of feet or so). Then try shuffling around the post keeping the same distance from it and with your centre line in conjunction with the post.

I am sure that some of the more experienced practitioners will have better drills. Have you askled your sifu to help you with this?

Damn that John Travolta has got some funky footwork..

Come on people I would also like to know how to improve footwork. Some more ideas???

Some descriptions of 7* say footwork is based on the big dipper. Does anyone actually do this?
