fast twitch muscle development

any weight training techniques you guys could share on the area, or any other ways to develope fast twitch muscles. asking this because i love to box, and plan to start up again, and want to be faster than i already am.

I am pretty fast as far as striking goes, and then movement is alright, but i am slightly burden ed by my lack of agility, but for the most part, i am faster (in close range combat, not running) than most people i know.

whatever you do, don’t use bodybuilding weight training methods. They do nothing for fast twitch.

On the contrary they actually slow muscles down. That’s why most olympic atheletes don’t train like body builders.

i have another quick question, i also weight train, alot more recently (oh, and i have noticed a slow down in my punches, thanks for helping me see teh obvious, i didn’t understand why at first :)) but I was wondering if anyoen has any personal experiences and wisdom they could share on how to gain strength pretty fast. (without teh use of drugs for all you smart @ss’s liek me out there)

Heavy weights, low reps, with plenty of recovery time, plus plyos, like johnny said…

BUT, you need to lift thos heavy weights as explosively as possible

Try snatches, cleans, clean and jerks, push presses, and hang cleans.

Find a good weightlifting coach before you hurt yourself doing these tho…
