What did you say at the conference that “the powers that be” did not like??
Have you heard whether any additional footage of the conference is available or going to be released ??

Was there any WSL linage chi sau on the CD. If so where abouts was it as i am curious to see some.

On the day of my presentation at the Conference, the organisers were telling me that because they were falling behind time, I might not be going on stage, …then it was going to be cancelled entirely, …then I was going to have to reduce my four page speech into a few paragraphs, …and so on. By the time I finally got on the stage, I had decided to try to summarize it down to a sentence per paragraph, however as I went on, the response from the majority of the crowd was such that I just pretty much went ahead and did it, albeit a little ad lib and less precisely, but if you look at the original text, I guess you will detect my underlying message that Wing Chun is first and foremost a combat system, and it ought to be trained as such. Seeing that the general thrust of the “elders” at the Conference seemed to be that Wing Chun ought to be the next Olympic martial sport, I expect that they saw my remarks as opposed to their views, even though most present seemed to be very supportive of the view that I was presenting. I have it on good authority that initially my entire speech was on the master tape, but when the guys involved in the editing process (who were sympathetic with my views) were unable to complete the task because of personal commitments, another (less supportive) group of “elder statesmen” took over the job and other contributions were included while mine ended up on the cutting room floor. C’est la vie!

Glad you liked the speech, …thanks! To date I have not heard of any further footage being released, but you never know. On the downside, it took two years to get this VCD out, so don’t expect anything new for a while. Maybe we can ask for the “Director’s Cut” with all the edited sequences put back in
