Length
They should be from the tip of your middle finger to the inside of the elbows bend. This is how I was taught to measure the bot chum do anyway. Though I must add that I have seen some teachers use longer blades as well as various blade styles. ![]()
thanks
do you know the dimensions of the finger guard and handle as well?

Measurement
That I really can’t help with, to be honest, never really gave it that much thought, nor have I asked, since I never have seen that much difference from knife to knife and they all seem to fit me just right. I guess this wouldn’t really matter unless your hand is extremely large or extremely small. Does anyone have an answer for this?
Do you think you could measure yours for me?
and then give me the dimensions, that way it will give me something to work with.
I’d buy some, but i don’t wanna spend 60 bucks USD on them.

Mine measure from the bottom of the blade to the bottom of the handle 5 1/2 inches, and the width of the handle from outer edge to outer edge are 3 1/4 inches, the actual cut out of the handle where the hand is inserted is 1 1/4 inches wide and the hook of the handle is 4 inches long. I hope this makes sense, since it is kinda hard to explain in words what it is I am measuring. By the way my blade is 2 inches wide.
$60.00? Where and how nice are they? I paid $98.00 for mine from Wing Lam supplies. And I’ve seen them as high as $250.00, and these are just practice knives. If you can find a nice pair for $60.00 then grab them, that is pretty resonable. ![]()
Thanks a bunch ![]()
i saw the ones for 50 bucks at martialartsmart.com They were made of wushu steel, but i wasn’t sure how good of quality they were.

by the way, at which point do your blades start to curve at the top?

My blades are 11 inches long and the curve begins about 7 1/2 inches up from the handle. ![]()
