BLT Suppliers

Anyone ever dealt with these folks?

http://www.bltsupplies.com/

They apparently have a book I’ve been after for years. Pananadata Rope Fighting.. Droool.

Anyways, I understand on their site that they’re in NYC Chinatown and that their phone lines haven’t been restored.

I placed an order on their web page a week and a half ago, and it still hasn’t been charged to my CC yet.

Is this normal, or just a result of everything that’s been happening.

Any tales?

Cool
I love a good bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwitch !!!

I ordered and received a couple of ‘tai chi rulers’ from them a few months ago. As I recall, they arrived within 10 days of ordering them.
I thought that was good service.
Why don’t you e-mail them and ask 'em what’s the hold up ?

I have bought from BLT

many times over the years. I recently received email from them which I didn’t pay much attention to because I don’t have outstanding orders. I know they were having some sort of problem. Great help, huh? Look, if I were you, I’d give them a call to make sure your order is being processed. They are good in terms of products and customer service.

Cody

well, i emailed a few days ago and hadn’t heard anything… their phone just rings..

i dunno how close they are to the WTC, but I’d imagine it has altered the way they do business a little.

i’ll keep calling, but I’m glad to hear that they are legit.

BLT’s on Mulberry Street in Chinatown, which was not in the “fall out” zone. But some people down there are only this week finally being allowed to go back to their work places.

BLT is a small “mom and pop” shop. They probably have not gotten back up to speed after the tragedy.

I’d say pretend like you never placed your order, and keep contacting them by phone.

They have an outstanding selection of books and videos.

I know nothing about BLT Suppliers, but stay on them. I have been really burned by certain MA suppliers.

I don’t get mad.
I get stabby.

I visited the store last summer. It was a fun place.

I love NYC chinatown. Great fun!

I am a big beleiver in luck. The more I work, the more luck I have.

I talked to someone last night who told me in an impatient way to be patient:) I’d imagine I wasn’t the only person who had called.

Since they haven’t charged me yet, I don’t feel too bad.. I’m just panting with lust for this out-of-print book.

I didn’t see a Pananadata Rope Fighting book there. Did u spell it right? COuld u post a direct link to it?

Scroll about halfway down. It’s spelled slightly wrong in my other post… I always forget how many "an"s are there

Bok Lei Tat Grand Opening in Queens

Many NYC martial artists are familiar with Bok Lei Tat martial arts store.
http://www.bltstore.com/main/index.php

As early as the 70’s people would meet under the large painted sign of Bruce Lee fighting Chuck Norris that hung above the store on Canal Street in Manhattan’s Chinatown. The store has moved a few times. Once even to Queens. I’ve know the owners for years and they allowed me to teach my class in the back of the store on Mulberry St.
Well, now they’ve moved to Flushing Queens Chinatown. They are having some demonstrations and a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sat. June 6, 2009. We will be doing a demo there. I’m sure there will be other schools as well. All are welcome

I ordered some products from this company years ago and after that NEVER AGAIN.

I have such fond memories of the first location which was under the white crane school, and which had this huge basement full of books.

Then they moved to Queens to a location in the middle of nowhere, impossible to get to :o

The “came back to Chinatown” only to have the unfriendliest store set up ever (books literally hidden behind a counter) and the worse customer service (“what, you want to know what that is?” , “you want the price, oh, ****, wait, I’ll see if I can find it” , “NO, we don’t carry that, I say that to everyone why you ask?”)

Back to Queens I guess.. feels like the fall of the Roman empire or something equally depressing

Shame, I love hitting the crazy stores when I’m in NYC. It’s been a while, but still…

I ordered some spears for a few students and included a note asking for tapered, straight as possible white wax wood. Some joker sent me some of the most deformed, warped wax wood staves of my life’s martial art experience. As far as I am concerned those c0cksuckers still owe me a refund plus +…

Under the new management things will be different.
