Yes, tackling people and forcing them to submit in a leg-bar is very effective. Unless, of course, they brought several hundred of their friends with them. ![]()

Waidan is correct. Now, a kungfu guy would have no problem with a few hundred folks. And if they’re armed..
Well I think everyone here has seen the matrix.
Most actions of men can be explained by observing a pack of dogs. Not wild dogs, just neighborhood dogs who all scurry under the fence on the same night and set off together to reclaim a glimmer of the glory their species possessed before domestication.

you know this is one thing i was wondering about why does traditional ju jitsu have ground fighting / throws , and breakffalling ,
i was like ok look theres 300 armed samurai coming towards me , oh sod the katana lemme arm bar him …
or better yet , ugh ive fallen off my horse thank god i know breakfalling i wont be hurt.
(apparently it swas used by samurai who didnt want to lower themselves by cutting a peasants head off so they would arm bar them to show them whos boss)
what do bin laden and general custer have in common???
They’re both wondering where the fu(k all of those tomahawks are coming from. - donated by mojo

when you have someone in a crazy bjj leg wrap …do they ever poke you in the eyes?
nah…as soon as they reach as to throat level they get armbarred! It’s like a GIMME in BJJ to eye gouge in the guard! Pass the guard then get a side or full mount then eye gouge…never eye gouge in the guard!

You can eye gouge the hell out of someone when doing a triangle choke though ![]()

It has been my experience that it is difficult to poke anyone in the eyes when they can tuck their head or keep it very close to your body.

BJJ won’t work in the battlefield, because if you go to the ground with your opponent during a war one of his friends will just come over and shoot you in the head.
BJJ could work on the battlefield …
… or any other type of groundwork, if the soldier has a good grasp of this skill.
You’re right, it wouldn’t work in every situation, but if you’re fighting hand-to-hand with the enemy the s*** has pretty much hit the fan anyway.
His main focus though would be to get free or subdue the attacker as quickly as possible, take him out/capture him, and drive on.
And hope his buddy with the gun hasn’t noticed you yet. ![]()
