Bak mei in MMA
Mike is in London Ontario, not Toronto, London is about 3 hours away.
The group on Toronto ( Scarborough) do NOT play full contact like Mike’s guys do.
Or at least they didn’t last time I “visited” them way back when.
Ok, Yum Cha accepts his “D” in Canadian geography and promises to do better… :frowning:
some years ago in the city of fatshan there was a story saying both chong luo and his father got defeated by a fatshan wing chun guy. can someone please explain the difference between bak mei bridge energy and wing chun short bridge energy in techniques?
I could, but then I would have to kill you.

i don’t really care if yum cha is from bak mei, o-mei or mei-ling, as long he likes to open his mouth, besides oolong tea, he’ll also get something to eat, pork buns or hot dogs till he can’t eat no more.

Man I was just trying to inject some humour.

I’ll stop now.

so fukcing true mate.

personally, i dont like dragon house… for a few reasons… everything ive read and seen about luo makes me think he’s a d!ck… all art aside, i dont like WHO he is… granted, i dont know the guy and im willing to change my views if i learned more… but from what i know now, i dont like the guy… far too much ego there…

about the art:
i cant really relate to wether its real bak mei or not because its foshan bak mei, and i practice clc… they arent even a little bit alike… i simply dont like foshan bak mei compared to CLC… the only fatsan bak mei practitioner that has ever impressed me is sifu barbary(spell check?) in france… i like the way he trains…

not to start a CLC vs fatsan bakmei argument, but like i said before, i simply just dont like fatsan BM…

as for CLC BM, i think its very helpful for short range attacks and clinch work for mma… add that to my muay thai, bjj, wrestling and im feeling a bit more rounded… i got alot of work to do tho…

That teachers a cool dude, I like what he had to say.

Martial arts is full of d1ckheads. That’s not my point, it’s probably obvious to a lot of people, it comes with the territory.

Aggressive, alpha personalities (egos) and all that. People who don’t shrink from conflict, and perhaps even seek it out. People pushing the envelope, for whatever reasons.

Some have humility and patience, and suffer fools gladly, some not. MA is about domination, at a very fundamental level, if its not, what are you doing?

Without referring to Sifu Luo specifically, (I don’t know him), being a D1ck really has little to do with anything IMHO. Unless you want to be best mates or fishing buddies.

Every martial artist learns to eat bitter because that’s where the real knowledge lies, outside the comfort zone. You endure and you take it, or you go soft and join the heard.

And of course, there are those, all puff and no substance. You should be able to recognise that too. That seems to be more of an issue.
