I was told that you have experience with Prof. David E. Kash and Sifu Derek Prout. I am in the Greensboro, NC area and I am interested in Hsing-I/Bagwa training and they are the only people in the area that teach it. I was a bit suspicious of the whole 10th degree black belt thing and the selling of titles. What do you know about these instructors or their group, Cloud Forest Chin Woo? Thanks in advance for any information.
I’ll answer for you. Cloud forest Chin woo is a fake orginazation. I was approached by them to be a member. I beleive they got my email off one of the schools directorys of another site. Anyway they want you to pay them money to become a member of chin woo. Not a big deal but…They don’t belong to Chin Woo at all! I contacted several branches of Chin woo and they all said they people don’t belong, they also said you need to know the 10 core forms of chin woo to be a member. The USA Chin Woo federation told me this was a false orginazation. The title “cloud forest” keeps the real Chin woo organization from persueing legal rights.
Kash doesn’t teach the 10 core forms anyway. Well… I heard he does but claims it to be the Tai Tzu forms.
I heard he was also selling Koushu memberships and keeping the money. He was not authorized to do so. I don’t have this verifyed though.
He also sold lineage titles to students with only 2 years experience in the system. The title he sold belonged to another instructor who trained under kash’s teacher with him. I am sure he would sell you a spot for the right price.
This school and orginazation is set up to make money, plain and simple. I don’t think Kash even really learned Baqua or hsing Yi. I also have a personal beleif that his “internal Tai Tzu” is just some Yang style taichi. It’s really similar to Cheng man Ching.
I’d stay away from these guys. I heard his Kungfu was ok(I doubt it) but he has to much shady business goin on. Not worth it if you ask me.
Old Chinese Kungfu saying- It’s better to spend 10 years looking for a good teacher than spend 5 years with a bad one.
Stay away from Cloud forest Chin Woo, this place is really bad.
Oh by the way ask him how he became a “professor”? He teaches these “college courses” out of his school and they have nothing to do with any college.

How is your internal gung fu hunt going, last I remeber you might of been checking out some schools in my neck in the woods. did it pan out?
Well I wasn’t really searching for internal kungfu just looking for a higher level of instruction. I found a place in Chicago Chinatown that is really good and inexpensive. I started studing Choy lay Fut last week. It’s pretty similar to the shaolin longfist I already practice in concept. Anyway you can check out their school
Good for you, I have a budy in San Deigo who is a White Dragon Choy Lay Fut and 7 Star Gu, he likes it.
Its cool that they have San Shou, hope it works out for you.
