Fox News is reporting that some huge raid in Afghanistan is underway

MSNBC just said it was 100 Rangers.
Fox News said it was 200 Rangers.
The Pentagon said “no comment”.

NBC news said “the American ground war in Afghanistan is now under way,” reporting the Rangers were flown in from the USS Kitty Hawk in the Indian Ocean, which was designated a commando carrier for this campaign.
It said helicopter gunships were also involved in the raid.
Somehow Fox news is always the first to know… 
Say, is that the new leaflet they’re dropping in afghaistan now?

Kung Lek, God only knows what they will find in there though that we haven’t blown up yet. I think thats why they are sending in alot. I wouldn’t suurprised if there are more, but 200 is the publicly known number.

CNN’s website sucks
They had some little window going on that detailed special forces units, they totally left off Marine Force Recon, unlike the little graphic that was posted earlier. Being a former Marine, I was slightly offended to say the least. I sent them an email to let them know the error of their ways. They still haven’t fixed it. those bastards.
CNN probably made the mistake based on the fact that Marine Recon was (is?) not part of S.O.C. I don’t know if this situation is still the same, but it was like this during the Gulf War.
CNN would ask S.O.C. what units are under their command, and then wrongly assumed that all SpecOp units would be under that command. Marine Recon is controlled by the Marine Corp itself. There is some resentment between the rest of American SpecOp units and Marine Recon as a result of this policy.
