What about Forest Whitaker? Did he have any training prior to filming Ghost Dog?
Also William Zabka (Johnny, from The Karate Kid) learned Karate for the movie, but I think he has continued his training. He has been in some bad, direct-to-video MA movies (my favorite) pretty recently. Shootfighter, for example (I would bet money that apoweyn has probably seen it
), and The Power Within (again, ask apoweyn)
Come to think of it, Martin Kove, also in The Karate Kid (as John Kreese) was also in Shootfighter as a lame villain with some (lame) MA skill. Anyone know if he has an MA background?
Marc Singer (from the TV miniseries, “V”) was also in some very forgettable bad D-to-V MA films. “Savate” (aka: The Fighter) immediately springs to mind. Don’t make fun of the movie though, or ap will be upset (Oliver Gruner is his hero ). Can anybody shed some light on his (potential) MA training history?
