My understanding of Chinese words is limited.
(I know what Qi is (Energy) what is Zheng in English?)
I’m not a master and don’t think I’ve reached what
you may consider advanced levels in Bagua.
From what I do know about Qi (energy) though, anyone who has worked up to mastery of Bagua will have good energy. Someone who is weak with bad energy can’t master any martial art (although it’s easy to find teachers who’ll take their money, show them a few forms and deem them masters after enough has been paid).
this is obviously a trick question, as there is no such thing as a “smart” bagua student. - if they were really “smart”, they would know that tai chi kicks bagua’s butt. - muhahahaha!!!
Perhaps it might if you could find real practitioners hiding amongst the hordes of Mandarin polyester-wearing peacenik flower-fisters out there! (Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh…)
I saw a post from many months ago where you mentioned you knew of a White Crane school in New York. I was just curious if it was still in existence, etc…
" if they were really “smart”, they would know that tai chi kicks bagua’s butt. - muhahahaha!!!"
I dont see how you come to this conclusion, since it is an indivdual who fights, not a style. But if you want to talk styles, then bagua has everything tai chi has , it has everything xingyi has and then it has some of its own, so in volume and content mass bagua has the most and also refined to a higher level. I do not learn bagua, im a xingyi guy, so ive no reason to be defend bagua but just because i dont learn it does not mean i dont have a very high level of respect for the art
WD, you seem to be making bagua sound like some kind of new age dance fad hehe , bet you pull all the chicks at the clubs with some circle walking on the dance floor. On a more serious note though ,its not my place to convince you im right, only to offer my opinion . But dont you think your two points are a little narrow?i mean, you seem to be describing bagua as if it has no internal meaning, like it is gymnastics.
What are you trying to say? I’m kind of slow so make it clear for me. Are you dissing Ba-Gua? and for what style? and if you are, I know your a novice at best. But I won’t go here if i’ve got you wrong so please reply to this
What up god! Do me a favor and holla at me. I’ve sent you a few e-mails, but no luck in contacting you.
I think you got both my job # and e-mail, so holla back when you get the chance. If not private message me here on kfo and I’ll give you my contact info.
I cultivate this in my practice by clear mindedness.
No preconceived notion on anything save the art itself, inparticular the Qi gong aspects.
In fighting, I let Ba-Gua dictate the responce, thus it does you not you it.
