Martial Arts Festival March Australia
I'd like to invite you all to participate in the Martial Arts Festival.
Here is an update of what we are planning in relation to a "Martial Arts Festival" in Wellington in 2012.
Following recent talks with the Editor of the Wellington Times it has been decided to aim for the weekend of March 10th (Sat) and 11th (Sun) for the actual Festival. This is so as to fall in line with the "MARCH MANIA" promotions in Wellington so as to maximise the amount of promotion for this event. The Editor Farren Hotham has stated that he would be seeking Television, Radio and utilising all outlets of Rural Press Media to promote this event. He also is seeking sponsorship of the event (More on this later).
Sat: An Open Day of Displays by various attending schools and information Tables/Booths. The aim of which is to maximise the promotion of Martial Arts and their core values. We aim to show people that the Martial Arts is far more than just punching and kicking ... A total art for the total being! This could involve power point presentations DVD's and use of a PA to explain the various aspects of your Arts during both the demonstrations and or Workshops.
A workshop by the various Instructors on various aspects of their art(s) with the aim being to educate the public and other martial artists as to what each art involves. These workshops would be filmed and a DVD made available to participants. This workshop could take place on the Saturday and or Sunday depending on the response from Instructors etc.
Sat Evening: A Chinese Banquet in the Flamingo Restaurant and perhaps even an Awards Evening (if any visiting school/instructor has any awards to make this could be the place and opportunity).
The venue has been confirmed as the Auditorium of the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club which has been offered free of any and all charges by the Manager and Board!
