10 Things I learned from posting on Kung Fu Magazine

10 Things I learned posting on Kung Fu Magazine

1. Internal and external will go on as long as MMA vs. TMA
2. Some on here still feel the boxers won the Boxer Rebellion.
3. Gene is either one of the coolest guys ever or takes a ****load of Prozac.
4. We are all nothing but a bunch of cranky old white guys that wish we were Chinese.
5. No matter what foul mood I am in, reading a post by Bawang makes me feel better.
6. Kung Fu and motorcycles go hand in hand.
7. Flame wars that go on for at least 10 pages will fortunately be sidetracked by Ronin posting hottie pics!
8. One day the “form fairies” and “glorified kickboxers” will unite to form this awesomeness!

9. Wing Chun still sucks!
10. For all the BS that gets spouted, this is a fun and productive forum.

Please feel free to add to this!!

1. New York Kung Fu Disciples are no longer Chinese exclusively

2. There's more traditional Kung Fu training available in North America than anywhere else in the world

3. Shaolin monks went from nowhere to everywhere inside of a decade

4. There is still a lack of clarity regarding Kung Fu training and it's value

5. Many find it easy to project absolute rubbish onto Kung Fu than just about anything else.

6. People who have never been to a kung fu school and who never studied kung fu with any real intent are more likely to make remarks such as "most kung fu schools don't know what they are doing".

7. Kung Fu has slowly been turned into a commodity not worth buying

8. Kung Fu has not been turned into a commodity and is hidden away with dedicated practitioners whose number is quite small, just the same as any worthwhile art form.

9. There are a lot more practices than just traditional Chinese martial arts taking place among the members here

10. This is the best martial arts and off topic digital love fest on the web, hands down, bar none, period.

1. The person you are arguing with either:

a. Does not train as much or as hard as you do
b. Practices an irrelevant/illegitimate style/lineage
c. is 12 years old

or some combination of the above.

2. Qi exists, I know it exists, just because you are skeptical of it's existence does not make it any less of a TRUE FACT because I said so. Maybe if you trained with a genuine sifu in a legitimate style (insofar as I have determined it thus) than you would have access to the FACTS that I do. What are those FACTS? You would have KNOWLEDGE of them if you trained with a legitimate sifu now wouldn't you!

3. There are so few members of KFM Forums and they are so apathetic that when another site tries to troll us they end up fooling more of their own members than anybody.

4. Strength is bad for real gong fu.

5. White people/bananas in N. America have more authority about the legitimacy of post cultural revolution Chinese Buddhist revivals than anybody. Thank heaven they are not shy about sharing their hard fought wisdom with us.

6. First principle for a cheerful disposition; a healthy hatred of Wing Chun.

7. Direct empirical knowledge of what actual combat looked like in ancient China; it didn't look like kick boxing.

8. Shuai Jiao sh1ts on everything.

9. The PRC is a big bad boogeyman and Shaolin is a myth created by Sterling Cooper Draper Price employed by Jet Li, David Carradine, and the Chinese Illuminati (aka Chinese Wikipedia) in 1966.

10.Worker drone desk jobs suck and the internet is fukking boring.

Internal and External methodologies have been around a lot longer than the MMA vs TMA debate, and they will go on forever, as they both exist and have their own validity.

Correction!

Some on here still feel that the boxers would have won the Boxer Rebellion if they had studied BJJ instead of Kung fu.

Funny, I don't get that sentiment from reading your posts....

Yes, it makes me feel better that there are people that fall somewhere in between Glorified Kickboxers and TMA-ists. The problem with Bawang is that one does not know which way he is heading.

I can see it now, the USA chapter of a motor bike gang called GKB Angels...

Or even better, both groups can start practicing authentic kung fu, so that their posts in this forum can start making sense.

Yes, for those who have never practiced it correctly.

We can reduce the BS if more people participating actually practiced kung fu........just saying.

1. Internal and external will go on as long as MMA vs. TMA

A. This I have definatly just learned.

4. We are all nothing but a bunch of cranky old white guys that wish we were Chinese.

B. Speak for yourself I just turned 30. But yes I can be a cranky white guy.

5. No matter what foul mood I am in, reading a post by Bawang makes me feel better.

C. Yeah no joke, when I first started reading a few months ago I didn't know what to think about Bawang no he just makes me giggle.

7. Flame wars that go on for at least 10 pages will fortunately be sidetracked by Ronin posting hottie pics!

D. I can always count on Ronin to give me pictures for my desktop at work that will make people question weather or not that should be there.

9. Wing Chun still sucks!

E.Come on Donnie Yen is the poop, er wait... what?

Since I've only been on for a few months this is all I have learned from the forum right now.

Not to be a spoilsport, but could we get a NSFW hint before you guys start posting softcore porn pictures? Opening a window with those might give people the absurd idea that I'm goofing off instead of working.
