Some Christians *do* have issues with karma...

...but I was going for the literary allusion of stoning Stone, not so much a comparative religious study.

Jackie Chan Records Sorrow-relief Album for Quake Victims
2008-05-30 16:59:57

Kung Fu superstar Jackie Chan organized more than thirty South Korean entertainers to record a music album to raise money for May 12th earthquake victims on Thursday.

The Hong Kong-based action hero says he will make the album available through the Internet and sell a DVD that includes the entire recording process. All the earnings from online downloads and the sales of DVDs will be donated to the disaster-stricken Sichuan people.

Shinhwa member Kim Dong-wan, Chae Yeon, Kim Ah-joong, Wheesung, Park Yong-Ha, Park Jin-Young and other pop stars took part in the charity event.

Chan rushed to Sichuan Province just four days after the earthquake to help the relief effort.

Last week, he told the media that he would make a film about the massive earthquake to tell the many touching stories.

In addition to the movie, he is planning charity events with about 100 other Asian artists, slated to take place in Hong Kong and Chengdu, Sichuan's capital, next month.

So my fave hollywood star said something uncalled for

Sharon Stone was one of my favorite stars in hollywood.

When a Hong Kong TV reporter asked for comforting words about the si chuan quake--

She said something that shocked everyone.

In time of crises, Chinese people always look for their leaders, favorite stars and celebs for words of leadership, comfortness, and inspiration.

So chinese reporters asked for comforting and supporting words from celeb from hollywood.

"one speech may lift up spiritis of a nation"

"one speech may cause serious disturbance of a nation"

this is an old Chinese saying.

unfortunately, clueless Sharon.

"Is that Karma?" will be remembered as the speech of infamy in chinese history and budhhist circles for generations to come.

some good examples of uplifting speeches.

1. President JFK: Ich bin ein Berliner. during the airlift of berlin crisis.

An American president to german people.

2. General MacArthur: I shall return. In a speech in Australia, after retreating from Philippines.

An American general to the philipino.

3. Neil Armstrong: one small step-- and one giant step for human.

An astronaut about the first human step on the moon.

Okay, but where's the accompanying photo...you're slipping

BTW, first time I've heard karma associated with Satanic (I know you didn't say it SR). Must be the "Either you're with us or you're with the Devil" POV.

I really like Sharon no matter what.

However, her untimely speech really left a permanent damage or tarnishment on Chinese people in general.

It will be an example of bad or super bad/satanic speech.

"Hey, nice beaver"
"Thanks, I just had it stuffed".

for people that are interested in feng shui and Chinese civil war.

there is an interesting series of clips.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZrbK8r4-b8&NR=1

I heard many stories about Chiang Kai Shek last day in China.

during the last few months of 1949, wherever CKS went, CPC army were after him.

CKS went to Guan Zhou (canton). the 4th field army (Lin Biu) went toward him.

CKS went to Kun Ming or Chong Qing. the 3rd field army (Deng Xiao Ping and Chen Yi) went toward him.

CKS left for Cheng Du. the city that had the recent quakes.

With communist army half a day away. He had to decide to go or not to go. There were many obstacles along the airfield in Cheng Du. There were skirmishes between nationalist army and communist advancing small troops outside the airfield.

A decision had to be made. To fly for Taiwan or stay and battle to death?

A lot of people tried to convince him to leave. Everyone knew that this would be last day on mainland China.

CKS made a decision, took a long sigh and said Zhou Ba or let's go.

A few people were singing the national anthem.

So a few C-47's left Cheng Du around 3-4 AM before day break on Dec. 10th, 1949.

It was still dark. So CKS never had a last look at Cheng Du.

Mao was reluctant to enter Beijing, since Yuan Si Kai and Duan Qi Rui both warlords failed when they governed in Beijing.

So Mao went to a daoist priest and asked for some answers. if go into beijing or not.

One day went by, the priest was still silent. Mao then became impatient and said just give me a number or something, So the priest said 99 and 8341.

So Mao entered beijing on sept 9th or 99. 99 is the best combination of lot drawing.

Mao named his bodyguard troop 8341 unit.

Mao's height was 183 cm, his shoe size was 41.

Mao thought everything was good.

After his passing, the real answer came out. 99 meant the day Mao will end his life.

Sure enough, Mao entered beijing on sept 9th and passed away on sept 9th.

He lived to 83 years old and ruled red army for 41 years.

I do not believe any of this. but heck, that was what people are saying.
