Using Lao Gung

I have some Qi Gong exercises that combine the movement of Lao Gung over a particutlar meridian in concert with breathing. What would be the action and result of this action on a particular meridian? Would yin be "burned", Qi would move, blood would move? Could this be used to open a blockage?
