Question conditioning

do you think hand and arm conditioning (iron palm...beating arms/legs etc) is necessary for wing chun training? reasons why it is or why it is not?

different opinions on this, like all things in wingchun. My own view is that to a certain extant you get conditioning whether you want it or not. A little more couldn't hurt, because getting into a fight, throwing a block or strike and reacting to the pain in an uncontrolled manner is bad obviously. Better wingchun people are good enough and redirecting, or "escorting what goes" that the conditioning isn't all that important.
