That is pretty cool. Except I figured out how it works. Its the placement of the shapes. Say you got 54. At 5 and 4, you get 9, subtract and you get 45 and in 45 is a smiley face. Every time you add of a number around 54, say 53, you get 8, subtract and get 45 and there is the smiley face. But what if you pick 27? 2 and 7 is 9, subtract and it is 18. In spot 18 is a smiley face. So no matter WHAT number you think of, you add and subtract it'll come out the same symbol in the appropriate spot.

Click the image and see where I noted a few times the semi circle with the star (OMG THEY ARE COMMUNISTS OF RUSSIA!!!). Look at the picture, add any numbers and subtract, blah blah blah, no matter WHAT numbers you choose, you'll get that semi-circle with the star.

on 3 attempts, it didn't work in any of the tries i did.

I don't get the purpose?

Is this related to Randi's 25% rule? IE: anybody can guess right about 25% of the time in a pschic exercise.

cheers

hate to say this kung lek, but you math may be at fault. i skimmed through it too fast the first time as well and just went off the two digits added together instead of adding then subtracting from the original sum.

i noticed the same setup as philbert. it's just the magic of math ;-)

I thought it was cool, had me stumped, but someone pointed out that the position of the symbols change every time you click. That's the secret. Your answer will always be a multiple of 9 which you may notice are always the same as each other in the chart, but it changes every time you click.
