If you only got the technique with no applied principle behind I reckon you will get your arse kicked.
Your technique will be hollow and empty, ie much of the crap MA we see out there. Just my Opinion.

Agreed. Principles are insubstantial, they need the techniques in order to be fully expressed and understood.

Seriously, why even bother practicing techniques? They take forever to master and you never encounter that same situation in a fight. Principles all the way!
