In Your opinion what are the key mechanics needed to be able to dissolve incoming force?

Acute elbow angles developed in VT along with correct angles of attack....elbows in during SLT is the only time you will keep elbows in such an angle during daily life
![]() Allows force vectors to combine, making a straight linear punch also have lateral force to 'displace' force not 'jam' it as would with an elbow out. Simultaneous strike and deflection in one beat using either arm....allowing us to attack along the centerline at 45 deg intersecting, attacking angles while flowing seamlessly with motion to achieve this. Bong sao is also a lateral force that by design will move force that touches it right or left to the centerline, opening up the linear strike space...bong sao moves force dissolving it by being like a conveyor belt of energy moving in front of our attacking rear hand traveling left to right. Why we dont use wrist energy in developing fighting strikes, the wrist will be displaced because it put its energy point on the conveyor belt, dan chi-sao develops this initial thinking by removing the urge to feel with the wrist and roll with action, rather than develop elbow /wrist alignment...unlike a strike controlled by the elbow the wrists are where most will attack us from, out at the end of the 'arm lever'...the wrong wrist force will lead the body to follow good elbow drill training will make us strike with the control point to our levers back at the ....ELBOW ....It only works if you fight along 50% of the opponent, iow flanks at attacking angles relative to the opponents movement and line of force delivery..ie r or L hand

even your mind think it knows you body cant do it. it is a result of long term conditioning and continous conditioning until you will it and it is there effortlessly. Not something you can get with a word in the forum or 3 days seminals. Ask Jim to share with you his journey and progress for years. |
