this comes not from wing chun, but it works.
ok you have to see the hook coming at least out of the corner of your eye, if its a left hook move your head right and forward TOWARDS HIS FIST/shoulder. then he wont hit you with the full power of the fist. :D
i think if you calmly reread any of the past threads on this topic you will find the answer you seek.

bil sau i good. with tan you have to make sure you either step back or turn to face the puch with your tan so that it can't hook around and hit you anyway.

Hello Jeff,
How's it goin',eh? And the elbow?Don't hyper extend those chain punches ,whatever you do...
I'll get a video to you soon.Paul Vunak has some interesting takes on elbow /fist gunting interception, hook smother/elbow to rib,elbow/deltoid smother, horizontal bicep strikes(sumbrada range) Filipino destructions that Guro Inosanto hipped him to.Cool stuff with rhythmic application considered. Also some lop sau/locking W.C. thrown in for good measure.Fairly drill-ish,but it can get the job done in an "alive fashion"given random energy from your partner. These are for entering only, take it from there with what have you, target wise."No,not the face!"
Tony Blauer has good counters on the typical hook/sucker punch as well.Basically an inside tan sau/trachial elbow block(neck/shoulder nerve area)step back,to neck clinch with knee's to thigh, groin, stomach.Very police effective if drilled properly.Affords time to grab weapon and pull to take down,or turn and escape.
Take care ,brah!Steve
