As we are speaking of BAK MEI KUNG FU, i thought maybe anyone would like to share any info on, monk disrobing technique?

How would you use it and does anyone know the reason for the name? Place or origin

any thoughts?

Hi FT,

May be it will ease everyone into discussing technique or their interpretation of a technique if you lead by example. I have a feeling that not everyone is keen on discussing technique when someone is just posting a question. So I suggest that you share yours (one or two variations) first. And so other would follow. What do you think?

Hi FT,

Good topic - worthy of discussion. I agree with M108 though, did the YKM founder teach this amazing technique in his / her curriculum? This (IMHO) is the essence - the very core, of BMK.

SF - "three opponents"?!?

ahhh...very most sincerest apologies for my shameful ignorance, FT!!!

If you don't mind me asking, what was the YKM Founder's name? I don't mean CLC's student - but the gentleman who developed the internal part of your system? Where did this system come from (the internal part)? Could you refer me to a site that has this info posted?

Always love to learn more about fellow arts!

Cheers, Ao Qin

ykm founder is Ding Yang from shaolin temple in honan province in the Tang Dynasty 618-907.

was passed down to one disciple until the ching dynasty 1644- 1911.

thats the one, but i would use it more like throwing him into train or a bus!

depends on the lineage, hakka or guangzhou or hongkong, fukien all have different things for the person to be thrown threw..hahahah:D

well i really like disrobing so i would pull my shirt off and throw it at him thats the higher level move. Or maybe start whipping him with it! CRACK THAT WHIP!!;)

FT,
Hello. Yes.

As I learned the strike/technique, I would find it hard to use on more than one person. It is very concentrated on blocking low strikes or kicks from in front and striking the person who attempted to strike.

We may be talking about two different strikes as I do not study Bak Mei.

Tell that monk to slip his robe back on, and get back to training! Too many dinners over New Years may have improved his "cotton belly" but his patterns are beginning to look like the prison ballet.

Gee, from reading all the SPM controversy, it makes our little Pak Mei clan worldwide look more civilised. I wonder how their discussion group is getting along?

Care for some tea lads?

That was a really strange exchange FT. You been watching too much bad TV.

Sui Fuw, how are your ancestors? Did you have a good visit?

Did you see the pix of FT carrying the Dragon Head? Quite an honour for a gwailo. Onya Gazza.

We had 4 new students to take through the new year's celebration, and it was nice having them. We also celebrated Sifu's 50th birthday. They are almost broken in now...<grin>.

Hey, FT
You got any of those press shots up on your site yet for Sui Fuw, you dog?

There must be dozens from the last frantic new year, eh?

Man, did I get my fill of sharkfin soup or what!

Hi Sui Fuw,

We all do what we can in memory of our ancestors. Has it only been a year since your mother passed? Do you enjoy going to HK? I've never been. Perhaps one day Sifu will take me to Guangzhou, and we can meet up with my Pak Mei brother in HK first. He lives in Happy Valley, but its is supposed to be on a hill. Oh well, I'm sure it makes sense somehow.

We were teaching Bui Choi last week, and Sifu said it looked like the Prison Ballet! I hope our mirth didn't put them off. Its hard to bite your tongue and let them struggle to find the way...

It's been a long time since we had a full group of new blood. Very promising lot though, but still too early to tell for sure who will last it out. Changes the complexion of our training though. Fills up our 3 hour period on Saturdays, and I have to bring a bigger pot of tea....

I learned a new couplet, "Bik bu Joy Lam fong." Do you know the first half?

The p.enises (penii??) of most big cats are spiky. During copulation this shocks the female, causing her to ovulate.

How do I know this? ... no feckin clue :(

My first lesson from the new students is that helping them isn't helping them.

I struggle to remember my way of learning. Watch and do, no talk. Practice 10,000 times.

3 pots, well actually we have several, but mine is the biggest. :D :D :D

Yes, I know happy valley is extra ordinary. He works hard.

Are you not a big beliver in bik bu?

Anton,
I knew that about cat *****s too, but I wasn't game to bring it up. :D :D
Why do you think they howl so much!
