I am going to see it either tonight or tomorrow. However, what I don't understand about the cast (and haven't understood since the cast list was first released a long time ago) is why and how they would have frenzy, but not have soundwave. if frenzy was a CD player in the movie, they may as well have made him soundwave and had frenzy as a CD. And ravage and rumble were much cooler than frenzy anyway...

I think likely the choices of cars were due nearly entirely to the fact that it was 100% GMC product placement. I read an article that was talking about the issues associated with making them transform well, and apparently they had to do a lot of research into the cars themselves to make this believable. The extreme amounts of time required to develop a single 'con or 'bot (something like a full year) in this case likely forced the issue of having to have these sponsors so prevalent. I'm no Transformers die hard purist though.

One thing that bothered me was the fact that the actors ignored the bots TOO well when they were attempting to hide. For instance, any time Frenzy was "sneaking" seemed utterly laughable to me, considering he was 1) constantly making noise, 2) incredibly shiny metal, and 3) a good 3ft tall. There is *no* way that a load of soldiers and police wouldn't notice something like that walking about a tarmac in plain sight.

I still thought the movie was enjoyable though. Needed more gore though (hardly any blood at all...).

They had to change a few of the cars from different models because the directors/producers couldnt acquire the rights to use the proper model cars in the film. Bumbelebee for example...VW would absolutely not give them the rights to make him a VW bug, Why? Who knows. it could made them mucho $$$ in the long run IMO.

GreenCloud, yeah, except there wasn't actually any blood in the movie, despite times when the 'bots were flinging people around with enough force to split them in twain and cause all sorts of mess. And the NYC streets scenes should probably have had blood just running in large pools through them. PG13 rating an all though.

Gore was a non-issue in the film, IMO. It was about the battle between autobots and decepticons, no? robots don't bleed. prime specified that the autobots don't hurt humans, and the decepticons are wholly unconcerned with them (don't care if they die) so what point would gore have served?

if I am being easy, I will geekasm if at least soundwave, ravage and galvatron are in it. Since megatron is supposed to be dead, it would make for a good entrance for galvatron.

The movie had incredibly stupid comedy, and didn't flow together very well. That is why I said it was stupid. It was also too long.

I had to explain this to the guys I went to see it with. All they remember about the show is what was "awesome" robot fights.......to a 9 yr old's mind. I was laughing almost the whole movie, and for the most part, was the only one. :p

beast wars was great because of the more mature story line, and how the maximals were always out powered near the completion. If you can pick up the Japanese Version of Transformers Cybertron. its called Transformers Galaxy Force. It has a better story line then the usa and isnt watered down. has some awesome battles and some pretty good story line.

I thought the movie was good corny fun, but I don't get how people can call it a "great" movie. Of course, I consider any movie with Hwang Jang Lee in it to be great, so I guess it depends on taste.

I was ****ed off about so much with this movie. Longest and highest budgeted commercial I've ever seen... and not even for the action figures. Cars, electronics and that sort of ****e.

I could have done with more robot clashes and less Shia LeBouf trying to get into Megan Fox's pants with Bumblebee along for the ride. Anyone else think it's creepy that all the Autobots are there when Shia's about to get to home base?

Some of the end "wrap up" stuff made me think of Godzilla.

I should have, but no. Coincidentally, I was at a local pizza cafe this evening after I left the gym... I was wearing a tee with the thundercats logo. The guys behind the counter started saying "thunder....thunder....thunder...thundercats - HOOOOOO!" which lead to a discussion about the show and the comic, which lead to transformers comics which lead to the cartoon and movie. ALL OF THEM said they thought it was cool that some of the dialogue was directly from the cartoon. One guy even started quoting lines that were in both the cartoon and the movie.

there were more than that. there was actually a small group of female bots that were on cybertron. They were led by (I can't think of her name, I will check) a female bot that was optimus' girlfriend. This was when they were on cybertron - before he became optimus prime.

Also, in the beast wars timeline, there was a predacon that was female. She was a spider.

arcee didnt appear until the movie and was in the 3rd and 4th season. she was also in headmasters which was never released in the us.
