Leading with the hook makes you lead with your face, boxing 101.

Not saying it doesn't work, I am sure that leading with a "iron scrotum" attack works from some people too...

Leading to the body and leading to the head are two completely different things. It is also not boxing so the technique and strategy has to change.

Come in with the jab, the cross, or the hook...they can all be countered and considered leading with the face. To come at someone you bring your body including your face. If the technique doesn't work for you fine, but for some people it does.

Hip power is very, very crucial in a leading punch like that...which Liddell has.
