theres a vid on youtube, but its really not very good at all. But i guess if you know the moves anyway, it might be a reference to spark the memory. just search 'dai fan chie'

what moves have you forgotten? I might be able to help you. while I do have them on video VHS (yes I'm old).... I have them listed in chinese and translated and perhaps I could send them to you and that would help.

I think you need to differentiate between the Qi Xing version and the Babu version. Both have forms called Da Fan Che, but they are TOTALLY different depending on the school.

Just to mention that this set (Dai Fan Che) is covered in the Lee Kam Wing videotapes (set of three). Also he goes over 10 of the 14 roads, Bung Bo, Hak Fu Gow Cha, Tao Fa San and shows applications. Although the ad doesn't say it, all of the material I mentions is on these tapes.

I know you were not asking me, but if I may say, no they are not worth the money unless you already do the form from LKW and need a reference.
Cheers

Is is stange to see how complacent the Martial Art community has become. There was a time not too many years ago , where it was unheard of for anyone to pick and choose what form they wanted to learn or watch. Yet today there are many forms demonstrated at the cost of a few dollars. You could not buy any of the forms on LKW tapes for a mere 30 plus dollars. So they are more than worth the cost. The forms are clearly shown but the details are not there in the instructional part.

So, if you want to see the forms, then the material is there. If you want to learn them, then that will depend on your skill level. The tapes will not make it easy for you. As far as I am concerned you may consider yourself lucky in the sense that material like this is open today.

However, the pride and reverence that comes from earning the next level of instruction is somewhat lost. The sense of entitlement is one of todays biggest problems not just in the martial arts but the world in general. The truth is that you are entitled nothing. Earn it, work for it and deserve it. As jake said , these tapes are best if you have learned the forms and want to reference them. Of course I feel that way about all tapes (DVDS). Unless you just can't find or are limited in some other way, get an instructor and reference with tapes.

i am not bothered about learning a form from a tape, what would be the point, it never equates to the real thing.

i was interested in the 2-man form. I have already learnt it but I thought it might be worth having if it explains things like timing etc in-depth.

The two man set "Tao fa San" (Peach Blossom Umbrella)is shown from a few angles and done separately as two individual sets. this is a good way to practice and retain the form. many two person forms are lost when the partners don't have time to get together. By practicing as a 2 single forms, you can retain them better. You also learn both sides of the set so that you can switch off when practicing. The two man set on the tape is done by John Cheng and Jeff Bruflat. They actually learned many two person sets from LKW hand and weapons and make a good team. The set is done full speed and slowly. LKW told me at some point in the future he wants to do more tapes/DVDs and take more time in the explainations.

Do you have any information on when LKW will be releasing 'secret of 7* mantis Vol2' (the red one). I wish I asked him about it/tried to get a copy when I met him in Hong Kong.

I have had it for a quite while now as well as the yellow book on the Plum Blossom sets (hand, fist, falling fist, palm, leg 1 and 2 ). The red book contains complete 14 roads, Bung Bo, Sup Baat sao, Daw Gong, Chaap Choy and Hak Fu Gow Cha.

You can check with John Cheng to see if he is selling them in the states. I believe he is. I haven't spoken to him in a while but he is the LKW official in the states
