What does everyone think would be the minimum workout space needed for a handful of peeps to train?
Excluding Wing Chun since they can train in a phone booth. :p

Well you kindof answered your question already, right? Probably depends upon what you are doing.
A lot of MAs with linear forms can probably be done in a small space but if you are doing staff or something you need a bigger space unless you want to be constantly backing up, people running into each other, etc.
We used to do a lot in just a 2 car garage, but you have to be careful with long weapons.

My training partners and i currently train in a one car garage. 4 people total. We don't do any weapon work inside. All drills, forms and sparring.
A two car garage with a high ceiling would be nice. Heck, lets give it a decently padded floor and half walls with one wall all mirrors while we're at it. :D

My training partner'n me use my 3 car garage, half of it's filled with equipment, the other half is spacious enough for us both to do form work without bumping into each other much, or work on moving drills without either one of us backing the other into the back of a barbell.
Of course, we don't work on throwing or ground stuff much, since it's a bare concrete floor, and neither of us is good enough for us to risk the teeth. ;)
