Recently, well known Grand Master Doc Fai Wong has presented a rather large gift in the amount of $10,000 to the chan family in King Mui,china. This gesture was accomplished by raising the money within his own organization of the Plum Blossom Federation.

I have it. The movie is okay could have had a better story but has a good deal of CLF. It stars Fu Sheng and is a must have if you do CLF.

can you tell us, who does he play? are there any clf real names in the movie?

Actually I can't copy it. It is an all regions DVD (meaning you need a Regions Free DVD player) and I don't have a DVD burner. The CLF he plays is different from my own and if I remember correctly is more buk sing as the person who worked with the action director was the uncle of Fu Sheng's wife, Jenny, who is also in the movie. I can't remember his name I would have to ask my sifu, I saw an old HK kung fu magazine he has that shows pictures of the movie and how he worked with Fu Sheng for it.

Thanks to troy, and CLF Nole I went out and picked up the CLF Siu Gee, and I thought the storyline was typical corny gung fu movie, but the CLF was off the hook.

I heard Alexander Fu Sheng actually learned some CLF somewhere, but he makes CLF look so good.

A definete worth while edition to a CLF collection.

Since we are on the topic of CLF in movies I thought I would share my favourite CLF stuff but it is actually a tvb series. It is called "Nam Kuen Choy Lay Fut" (translate roughly "Southern Fist Choy Lay Fut") BUT the english name is "The Rise of a Kung Fu Master"

I don't know if you guys have seen it or not but I personally love it. BE WARNED it is historically inaccurate so don't look at it for any reason to be. On the other hand it has a great story with interesting characters and awesome kung fu action without the silly floating in air stuff. On the other hand there is a ridiculous bit with people using magic cult kung fu to heal cuts and etc...BUT that doesnot deter from how enjoyable or awesome the series is.

Can DVD drives on computers play Region 3 DVDs?

I think I heard that there's a way to hack into your DVD player to make it Region 3 compatible, by entering in some code you type in from your remote.

Anyone have any more info on any of these?

Personally I don't like the way Fu Sheng plays CLF but he is funny and makes most movies enjoyable. He learned from his wife's uncle and also learned a little from my sifu. He mostly learned hung gar from Lau Kar Leung and thus his hung kuen looks much better than his CLF.

I have the series you are referring to, it stars Meng Fei. Pretty good for one of the TVB drama series. The kung fu is not bad and the story is pretty good as well.

Yeah I think that's the series. Meng Fei I am not sure if he does kung fu but he does the job for me. You own the series? where did you get it? VCD or DVD or classic VHS?

VHS my sifu had brought it over from Hong Kong and when me and my wife were moving her mother in with us I found it. It works on PAL so it is a pain in the arse.

Lau Kar Leung's father Lau Jaam learned CLF prior to following Lam Sai Wing.

You can also see Lau Kar Leung do some CLF in the beginning of the Shaw Brothers movie "My Young Auntie". The chinese name for the film is "jeurng boui" or "The Elders".

In November 2006, the 12th Provincial Sport meeting will launch in Foshan, and the corresponding activities will be held accordingly. At the same time, Hong Sheng Guan will come to its 155th anniversary, and decides to hold the celebration with all the international peers in August 2006. Hong Sheng Guan has decided to invite all the international peers to come back to the origin of Chai Lee Fat, and take part in the gathering. During the gathering, there will be activities for discussion on the development of Chai Lee Fat and also, the interactive Martial Art performance. The arrangement for the anniversary is as follows:

Time Period: Three days, end of August 2006 (26th,27th,28th)

1. Fist Day, Welcome the international peers and arrange the accommodation. Welcome party at night and detailed celebration activities is under negotiation.

2. Second Day,

1) At 8:30, welcome the governors, the honored guests and the domestic and oversea peers in Hong Sheng Guan.

2) At 9:00 am, anniversary begins. The related governors, guests and peers will deliver the speech, with the Lion Dancing performance.

3) At 10:00 am, a ceremonial on admiring the forebears of Hong Sheng Guan.

4) From 14 pm to 17:30 pm, interactive Martial Art performance, and Lion Dance.

5) At night, Party on celebration

3. Third Day, organize the Foshan touring for the peers who are interested in the activity.
