I figured I'd start a thread where people could discuss their various Kuen Kuit.

To start, here's this one from the Moy Yat lineage - "The punch comes from the heart."

Any thoughts?

I before am is limitless.
One can release the stuck beside supress or express.
the true freedom is the freedom of accepting everything in silence without reaction.......

Only then, when the mind is quiet, when the E-motion is droped.

then,

Come welcome, goes dispatch, release move forward, within silence lead the action.

can be implemented.

Otherwise, it always default to a compete of aggression with brute physical force and speed....... the strong beat the weak, the fast defeat the slow. The young have more advantange then the old age... disregard of what is the theory behind.

Love never fail.

I have heard this one as well. Although the WC punch does certainly come from the center, I have come to understand it as referring to correct intention. ie. having intent behind your punches.

One of my favourites is "Strike when you should. Do not strike when you should not." in reference not only to knowing when to strike, but as a reminder not to fight.

Not from the Kuit, but one of my Sifu used to say "The best block is a block away." I remember that one often as well, keeps me out of touble. :D

Strike any presented posture if it is there. Otherwise strike where you see motion. Beware of sneak attacks, leakage attacks and invisible centerline attacks.

Food for thought Peace!

Have target, strike target
No target, strike impression
Impression true, stay
Impression false, cleave back to center
