Mr. Roselando

You announced Roger's new site over a month ago.

What is the delay in getting people their passwords?

Hi Kathy,
I believe they never were going to release this information but were just fishing to see who would reply to there tease. I heard through one of Roger's top students that Roger plans on standardizing all Southern Mantis. My question is by who's standard?

DRleungjan
06-14-2006, 08:43 AM
Hmmm....

Standard-izing a martial art? Sounds nearly impossible to me, especially when you have multiple lineages within a style. It'll be definitely interesting what a 'standardized' version of southern Mantis would look like.

Please note that the China Southern Mantis Kungfu Survey will be released shortly. The site will not require a password and everyone will be able to freely visit the site anytime. At present, a few minor changes are being made before the site opens.

The site will contain a number of eBooks for purchase. Currently "Pingshan Mantis Celebration", the 35th annual celebration of Wong Yook Gong's heritage, is complete and available as eBook. "China Mantis Reunion" the second eBook will be available shortly. You can read the first post in this thread for more info on these eBooks.

As for standardizing Southern Mantis, Mr. Hagood has no interest. Although, in his opinion, a standard is necessary in any teaching. "Without a standard there will be no root. Without a root the tree cannot blossom".

Shortly, a forum will open at www.chinamantis.com for open discussion about the Survey. If you have emailed and didn't receive a reply yet, we apologize and thank you for your patience. You will be notified soon when the site is online.

For further info you may contact me, Richard Lee Gamboa at 1-800-JOOK LUM

Nice to see you cannot read Wu Gong Li. Why do you care when you list you're just another MMA nutirder on your profile??

Why not go play around with your rootless/toothless "sport" ma and leave the research and real world MA to the grown ups?

I would love to see you pit your MMA against Sifu Gamboa or myself. Too bad you do not step up but hide.

Cannot wait for the info to be disseminated from Sifu Hagood's research in China with a cross section of masters from the branches of South Mantis.

Well Dufus, seems you believe everything you read and hear...I mean you are following the Bamboozle Temple Way...Right?

Talk about Rootless and no Linage who is the Bamboozler trying to stand next to to give him lineage and credibility these days?

Since you and Tricky Rick are such Traditional Martials Arts Bad A$$es I'll be looking for you both on the next round of UFC matches as none of those guys have any real Martial Arts...right??? You better bring some of that third Rate Jow of yours as you will need it.

Step up and name yourself.

Funny how the supposed fakes post contact info and you the " real deal" posts nothing in that respect.

Cowards hide, real people stand up and step up.

That about sums it up.

I am sorry that your traumatic brain injury seems to dull your sense of reality.

Face it Rog, No matter the number of Avatars that you hide behind your Pompous and Arrogant writing style betrays your Egotistical FAT Head? Could it be that in time you'll post a picture of one of your Clueless Sychopants and Challenge me like you did so many others here back in 1999??? Truly, a Leopard or in this case a Charlatan cannot change it's Spots. Like you have said here so many times "IF YOU START OUT WRONG, YOU END UP WRONG" Yeah, you teacher must be real proud of what you've become....so, who is he again???

Hello,

Lets stick to the topic before "Specualtion" caused the thread to go a stray. The Project is a reality. Its not about Standardizing anything but accross the board Research from the Mantis homelands.

Kathy,

As Ricky said, its taking a bit longer but it is going to be out. Its very nice. Any southern artist will enjoy it IMO.

Wugongli,

Roger does not Post here!

Dale has fought and won area MMA competitions and uses his own name on the net.

IF the Mantis Survey Project does not interest you please feel free to not check it out. IF it does interest you. Please check the site! :)

Jack, like Jim said, he has met me as well as Gene Ching of this very site. People can vouch for me being me.

Sorry all you can do is throw insults rather than show skill or spine.

I still pity you.

Jim,

I really think this project will show in its depth what went into it and what it can do to establish what no one has done before. Research South Mantis at the source in China and put down what is found rather than be told what it might be second hand.

[QUOTE=Rick]As for standardizing Southern Mantis, Mr. Hagood has no interest. Although, in his opinion, a standard is necessary in any teaching. "Without a standard there will be no root. Without a root the tree cannot blossom".

WHO gave Roger the right to set any kind of "standard"?

There are levels of skill, period.

How one achieves that skill varies from person to person and is transmitted directly from hand to hand.

Roger uses his hands to collect pictures and give red envelopes.

He disgraced himself with his intrusion at Norman's opening, he further disgraced himself by quitting on Mark Foon AFTER swearing a most solemn oath!!!

No true Hakka or Southern Mantis Sifu will come near his disgraced hide!

Roger stands alone. The door is shut to him. Now he has more pictures to wave around, and more stories to tell....BFD!

The skill of the Hakka is in the hand, not the mouth or the website.

Since you did not "read" the Reply let me highlight something for you that you Obviously missed. The First Line  :

As for standardizing Southern Mantis, Mr. Hagood has no interest

There ya go! ;)

Roger is a Sifu and has his own schools/students. He has the right to teach the art he learned anyway he feels is productive. So, Since you are having trouble with what the above means let me help out with this Complicated issue.

He has a progression of teaching that all his pupils follow. All mantis/kung fu does! Its not something that is up in the air but rather a progressive training schedule for the art and pupils growth. It all starts with Som Bo Gin. Just like any Mantis school. Nobody is trying to Standardize anyone elses art/school teaching. This seems like a poor excuse to take the thread away from the Mantis Survey.

There are levels of skill, period.

Agreed. Someone who has learned Som Bo Gin will more likely be less skilled than someone who has finished the Sup Bat Dim and so on. All Mantis practitioners follow a Progression even if it sounds odd to you at the moment.

How one achieves that skill varies from person to person and is transmitted directly from hand to hand.

Yes. When the Sifu feels the student is ready to learn more they teach them what will add to their foundation and keep them growing progressively. Your not stating anything odd.

Roger uses his hands to collect pictures and give red envelopes.

Speculation!

I am sure you have felt Rogers Hand to know his level or are you speaking about second hand speculation?

Please tell us when you met him?

He disgraced himself with his intrusion at Norman's opening, he further disgraced himself by quitting on Mark Foon AFTER swearing a most solemn oath!!!

Everyone has their opinions.

No true Hakka or Southern Mantis Sifu will come near his disgraced hide!

Speculation!

Name them? Come on! Name the REAL Mantis sifu's?

Thats just BS computer talk. Those who really have issues should have spent the time to visit him and teach him a lesson right!

I am sure Wong Yuk Gong's family, Chu Gar family etc. and others from Lam Sang's lineage would be interested in knowing who the True Hakka are! Feel free to list them!

Roger stands alone.

Maybe if the REAL Mantis sifu's have issues they can stand up and speak to him. Or is that too simple? SO, Roger and his friends tend to Stand Alone because they actually are real Identifiable people IMO.

The door is shut to him. Now he has more pictures to wave around, and more stories to tell....BFD!

Which Door amigo? If the Door is Shut then he would not be able to attain more research. So, this Mantis Survey is not of interest to you and there is no need to purchase/discuss it. :p

The skill of the Hakka is in the hand, not the mouth or the website.

This is true.

Its too bad "the people who believe this" did not follow this advice when he was In NY at the Openning (or One Of The Many Times he was in NY) or when he was living in the states all these years. He always was Very Very Very easy and open to get in touch with.

Things that make you go Hmmmm.

This topic is about a South Mantis Survey. Those interested should check it out. Those who are not dont have to. Its funny how so many years have gone by but there are always a few who Like to live in the Past. The project is an Accross the Booard Mantis survey. All mantis and not one line. A great addition to anyones collection!

Peace,

I also believe this is an excellent research project with loads of info. straight from the motherland. I also like that it is accross the board research versus just one lineage. The project speaks for itself once its read but as expected there will always be those who are not interested which is ok to! ;)

Its been over a month since the announcement was made to sign up.

How much longer are people going to have to wait? Or is this like many of us thought...a means for Roger to update his database of "who's who" in the Southern Mantis community who are online?

As someone training in Southern Mantis by someone who knows Roger personally, I know Mantis is not for MMA. Mantis is a vicious way of ending the fight quickly using inner strength. It is not for MMA because you can't use inner strength through a glove. I can say that an MMA fighter doesn't know what he's getting himself into when he's fighting a SPM fighter. Especially if he doesn't land a punch/kick or see himself getting hurt badly not seeing a punch or kick coming.

jo
07-14-2006, 04:26 AM
So no one (other than those on Roger's inner circle) have gotten their passwords for Roger's site yet!

Why is that not a suprise?

Many people have registered, openly and honestly, in the true sprit of the Jook Lum brotherhood, but Roger has chosen to turn his back on them. Their phone calls and emails have gone unanswered.

This is the man who wants to be a leader in the Jook Lum community?

Caveat Emptor.
