Hi,
I have been told that the essence of Tai chi Chuan is Peng Jing.
From what I have read, peng jing means to expand outward in all direction.
What exactly is the Puppet String/Equilibrium base Peng art.
Can I get some of your opinions about the insights, guidlines/secrets for development of Peng Jing energy from a bio-mechanic perspective?

Peng Jin is any power moving/projecting/guiding upward. The puppet string analogy (I think) is in reference to Dong Jing, or central equlibrium. This is basically Wuji Zhuang, getting all of your alignments proper inside your body so your muscles can fully relax and allow for 100% of power to be issued (instead of getting any of it stuck in your muscles so to speak). You cannot issue any power with peng without being properly, fully aligned.
Any help?
Cheers
Jake :)

At our school we practice standing as well as the dynamic pushing hands training which also produces good peng jing.

As I understand it (very basic at best) proper structure is KEY to, well, everything. Wuji is the best place to start.
Nice article.
Cheers

body feels full, as in a firehose filling with water, or a balloon filling with air, expanded in all directions, from head to fingertips to toes. standing is the way!
have fun!
