i really cant believe how much i enjoyed it. i honestly thought that i'd just drag myself around the magic kingdom doing what i could for my little girl, but disney world totally powned me. today was the best day i've had in years. if you got kids and havent been there fix that. if you dont have kids and havent been there fix that.

seriously ... i spent an entire day with suzi and not a single argument. i dont know what kind of magic they have but it must be powerful.

here's the dizzle with a-rizzle. (http://users.1st.net/abaddon/fam/dizzlarizzl.jpg)

I went when I was 3, 8, and 11. Made a big impression on me. Hey do you still have to wait in line for 40 minutes for every ride? That was the only negative.

For mid-westerners, I heavily recommend Noah's Ark Water Park at the Wisconsin Dells to go hang out with your kid(s) and the girl.

I'm a big fan of WDW. This year for my wifes birthday I got her a day at the spa at the Grand Floridian while I took the kids the the Magic Kingdom. I've been there five times and still haven't got tired of it. The last time we went we took our chances during Katrina but it went elsewhere and most people cancelled their reservations. We had a week of 5 minute waits on line which is about the time it takes to get from the entrance to the ride. We'd just keep riding stuff until we had enough and then did the same thing on the next ride. It was a once in a life time visit.
The only creepy thing was we were staying at Disney's Port Orleans resort while the real one was being flooded.

I remember going to Disney with my kids, and while all the parents and their little ones were going to watch one of those short plays, I took my daughter, who was 9, to the Tower of Terror. We rode it 9 times! She liked that a heckuva lot better than Winnie the Pooh!

Disney totally rocks. I was there last summer with my wife and kids. We waited in a line to get a picture with Ariel just like you. I got my picture with that hot little mermaid too. ;)

Did you guys go to Animal Kingdom? Now that place is really cool.

What I love about Disney is the attention to detail. They've thought of everything.

i got more responses later tonight, but i wanted to say something about the waits real quick. they have fast passes now which are totally sweet like ninjas.

if a ride has a long wait you just put in your ticket and get a fast pass. it gives you a time to come back and then you walk up a seperate isle for fast pass return which takes you right to the front. you cant have more than one fast pass out at a time, but it all works out and its really really nice.

thats amazing about the visit during katrina too ... i envy you my man.

we never actually made it to the tea cups ... i think adora is out growing them already. she wasn't real happy that she couldnt do space mountain.

word ... adora proved to have much more confidence than i gave her credit for.

The fast passes are great. I normally go during the heat of the summer, which helps minimize lines, but we grab a fast pass, go to less popular rides, and then jump on the one for the fast pass, repeat. You barely have to wait in line at all.

Rogue, Port Orleans isn't so bad. I stayed there once. I was even in Florida during Katrina as well, but I was further south on Marco Island. We just got clipped by the outer edge. The surf ended up being great for body surfing, but the current was killer. :)

My wife's family are Disney addicts, so I end up there once every few years. They've been 20+ times. Crazy.

i have never been to disney at all as a kid. my mom hated flying so we never went. my dad wasnt about to drive all that way. i want to go. i feel deprived kinda for not going. i guess its something every american should do once in their life.

Ford, We've stayed at Port Orleans several times and found you couldn't beat it for nice grounds, the pools, the price and it's location. I even feel like I'm on vacation when I'm there. I recommend that property to everyone.

GDA, Know what's better than a fast pass? Someone with a handicap tag. We've used my mom who has a bad ticker and two new knees to blow past many a long line to get to the front.

BTW, Many people don't realize that you can ride in the front of the monorails with the driver just by asking.

i jealous. the ****ers at six flags closed down the houston park, so it's either to san antonio for their six flags, or new braunfels for schlitterbaun. i'll take schlitterbaun any day, but six flags was the last fun thing here in houston. the texans suck, the rockets suck, and the astros -- well, they're not the mariners. about the only thing left to do in houston is make fun of the natives.

A quick google image search makes it clear that there are some folks out there for which this doesn't hold true.

Greetings..

Well.. i live here (Orlando).. and locally, it's known as: Dismal World, or The Tragic Kingdom.. I've watched a nice sleepy little Florida town be raped, over-run, and tramped into the dirt by the lure of "Disney Fun".. We have seen the costs of tickets climb so high as to be prohibitive for many families with 3 or more kids..

I will never understand why anyone would come to Florida in the heat of the summer, stand in lines for 1-2 hours to ride a 2-3 minute ride, then move to the next attraction and do it again.. Dang good marketing i suppose..

Be well..

Ok, and on that note let me just say that anyone else heading for mouse country let me know ahead of time as I have a hookup for discounted tickets.

GDA can verify the discount is legit with no catch or strings attached. Let me know and I'll see what I can do.

verified .... the tickets worked fine and he saved me a **** load of money.

over 300 bucks total.

edit: .... and to be completely honest i have to admit that i did consider the possibility of the tickets not working for a second after suzi's mother mentioned it. i tend to always give people the benifit of the doubt and i really didnt think about it until she mentioned it. i told her that ou ji seemed like a real nice stand up guy and i didnt get a hint of that kind of vibe at all, but then i thought **** this will suck if i have to refund 4 peoples money on top of my own loss. but as i said all the tickets worked great and it was really awesome that he was able to save me so much money.
