I'm trying to get my arse back in shape for Oso's tournament following a Holiday lay-off and finally got around to hanging up my Wave heavybag at my new house. I have used this thing for years with no problem but after the second "round" of 90 second use I began to notice water dripping out of the bottom. I opened it up and there was a seam busted along the top.
I'd like to think that my punches were just that punishing, but I think the thing had just gotten old (I've had it and put it to good use for 10 years). I'm wondering, can I just remove the bladder and fill it with sand? Anybody had this problem?

Ha!! As Yoda would say...
"Strong he is that one, but no control!"
Careful with the sand. Remember as you strike it compacts & becomes way more dense that you'd anticipate.

Yes we broke ours as well at My Masters school years ago.
I took it home glued it then i filled it with goodwill cloths on the bottom then sand then clothes then sand then clothes then sand then clothes.
I packed it with a broom stick with each wave of junk.
I kept it to around one hundred pounds so it was still viable without breaking from too much weight.
Sand outweighs water so the clothes are needed.

That's a good idea with the stuffing. I'll tinker with it. I have one of the TKO stand up bags with the water-filled base, but I don't like that nearly as much as a free-swinging heavy bag.

suzi got me one of the standing ones years back, but i never bothered with it. i finally traded it in to play it again sports towards a heavy bag stand.

waves are easy to break is my experience. Not too big of a fan of them.

Well it only took me ten years of training.
