I'm looking for the Chinese toned pinyin title of a book called "The Master of Demon Valley" written and personified by Wang Li. I found a translation of the work by Thomas Cleary, but I'm interested in finding a Chinese Character version. If anyone knows the pinyin title or even where I can buy the book, I'd much appreciate a pm.

Can't help you but it sounds interesting. What is it about? A Taoist work?

Thanks
Jake :)

Wang Li was a Daoist, yes, and purportedly the Master of Demon Valley. His book is a Daoist manual of sociocultural harmonization. A Translation can be found in Thomas Cleary's book, "Thunder in the Sky."

I understand that Gwai Gu Tzu (Master of the Demon Valley) was Sifu of Suchin, the minister of Six Kingdoms. Suchin, after recently graduating from Gwai Gu Tzu (Demon Valley Master) went to visit the King of Chin and offered his services as a strategic advisor. The King of Chin just laughed at him, so Suchin went back home and swore to teach the King of Chin a lesson. After 10 years seclusion in his room, he further mastered the teachings of Master of Demon Valley as well as other things such as arts of persuasion/diplomacy, then emerged to unite the 6 opposing small kingdoms neighboring the Kingdom of Chin..........much to the chagrin of the King of the Chin empire.

Its a very interesting and inspiring story.

From my limited understanding, Demon Valley Master was the creator of the Horizontal and Vertical School of Strategy. Horizontal meaning unifying principle. Vertical meaning dividing principle.

If anyone has more details on this subject, history of Suchin, Gwai Gu Tzo etc, then I would love to hear more about it.
