well i help my kung fu brother run a school. and when he orders stuff, fine, they repeat it, fine. but when they ship the stuff out we are always getting miss-selects. talk about a pain in the butt.

and whats with the one shipping option? thats something i would like to see more. have a couple shipping options. i mean a company your size probably has a deal with ups or something. what will it take to get quicker shipping if the customer is willing to pay for it?

Well, you got my attention again, SLL. Right now, we are in the process of moving MartialArtsMart (http://www.martialartsmart.com) to our TN office. Actually, it's already moved. You can't imagine how quiet our phone sales office is right now. It's a big transition period, of course, and I'm not sure how they are doing in TN. I'm told that things are going smoothly overall. Of course, there have been some snags, but not as many as we'd expect. Several senior managers are now in TN overseeing the transfer, including our CEO, Thomas Oh, and my direct boss, Gigi Oh. Yes, did I tell you how quiet it was over here in CA. ;) Anyway, that's not much of an excuse, but it's all I got right now.

As for helping your friend and his school - if he has a school, he should have a resale and if he has a resale, he shouldn't even be dealing with MartialArtsMart in the first place. He should be dealing with our parent company, Tiger Claw (http://www.tigerclaw.com). That doesn't really affect your shipping concerns though, since Tiger Claw and MartialArtsMart use the same shipping bay and are parallel in operation. Well, at least they were here in CA. I imagine it'll be the same in TN. I don't really have much of an answer for mis-pulls. It's unfortunate that it has happend to your several times in a row. There's always some human error, of course. Are others having the same problem?

As for shipping options, I know at this office it was probably an issue of efficiency - consolidate it all. We do offer faster shipping methods if you request it - through UPS or other alternatives.

yeah, when i ordered my combat steel monk's spade in the mid-ninties we recieved a pitch fork instead. head pads for shield pads. we got burned up in the reshipment costs: every time they made a mistake we had to pay for them to ship the correct thing, plus pay to ship it back. we stopped ordering from them/y'all because it wasn't worth the headaches.

i'd really like to order some of helen liang's vids but am affraid i'd get tkd poomse instead.

That's very strange because we cover the shipping for mis-pulls, both to and fro. It would be bad business not to, obviously. I can't understand why you arder went so poorly. That *was* ten years ago, so perhaps they weren't as together back then as we are now...

maybe so. i'll sneak'em an order and let you know. it was in '94. we had our chinese speaking sifu reorder it and we got the pitch fork. when we sent the pitch fork back we got an eybrow height iron staff instead. i had to draw a picture to get the right thing: but i must say, it is a good hunk of metal. combat capable and stump-spliting good! ( I broke a kwang-do with it that spring!)

Did you order that from MartialArtsMart (http://www.martialartsmart.com) or Tiger Claw (http://www.tigerclaw.com)?

whichever one had a sanfrancisco warehouse and shipping department. i thought it was mam because of the variety of weights offered in thier listing. it was not done from a web order.

same umbrella of companies, though, right? bmg; tiger claw; paul mitchel, kfmo and round 12 other companies including UFC; mam.

was MA Mart even doing business in 94? All I remember at least on large scale was AWMA, Tiger Claw, Century, Beijing Imports, Jonie Uniforms, BLT and other usually more specific suppliers for some weapons or books, uniforms, etc. I only worked for 3-4 yrs for my Sifu but we rarely had any mispulls from any of our suppliers. I've only ordered once from MA Mart but aside from the time to ship (west to east coast) everything was fine.

Tiger Claw is our parent company and it's wholesale only. If it was a school or store, it should have been dealing with Tiger Claw. This is the 20year aniversary of Tiger Claw, BTW. As for MartialArtsMart, it evovled out of Pacific Rim Products. PRP (still a DBA of us, but not used as much anymore) is as old, even a little older than magazine, and that started in '92. We 'officially' adopted the name MartialArtsMart with the web store, which launched around '99/'00. Our CA warehouse has been in the east bay of SF (that was Tiger Claw only, way back in the day, way before my time), then it was in Santa Clara for a long time and is now here in Fremont. Although Tiger Claw is the parent company, MartialArtsMart (and Kung Fu Tai Chi magazine) are completely different departments - different staff, different payroll - the supervisors do get together for meetings, but really we do our own thing. Otherwise, it's really messy to try and figure out our profits/budgets and such. That's one reason why when y'all ask me about orders, even subscriptions, I can't really answer. I can only direct you to the right department.

Gene,

I work for a Kung-Fu school, but usually order from different companies. After playing on this forum for so much time, I decided to orde through Tiger Claw for the Feiyues. (Our TC account hasn't been used in years, if ever). So this forum is directly responsible for geting me to order from TC...

And they better not mess up. I work in a high-class (ie no panty-shot) neighborhood, where some people can get...shall we say antsy about misplaced orders) :D

BTW...are we gonna be able to get the Feiyues in smaller sizes? Kwon has em starting at size 29 and Feiyue starts at 31...We got a lot of littlies needing the smaller size shoes.

Dang. Move out of there. Why would you ever want to live is such a place? :p

I don't think we will be going smaller with the Feiyues (http://www.martialartsmart.net/45353l.html) at this time.
