What do you guys think of about having a tournament Wing Chun school against Wing Chun school. We have three Wing Chun schools intrested in particapating.
There will be trophies and cash prizes. First we have to have atleast 50 people willing to spar, forms and weapons.

Wing Chun Style Tournament...

You mean a tournament modeled in a style that accentuates Wing Chun skill?

Or a tournament between people of different Wing Chun styles?

Or a Wing Chun Fashion Show?

Whichever one you go with, I'm sure it'll be a hoot!

I think it's fine if you want to do it.

You'd need to publish the competition rules, obviously.

True, I feel that instead of always debating lineages and who has the Ultimatewingchun I feel the put up or shut up aproach would work well.
If you win what a better way to promote your school.

This sounds great who is holding the event and where will it be? I know my instructor has plans to hold some events in the near future. Would be great to see some kind of sanction between Wing Chun gym's.

who has the Ultimatewingchun

Oh, so you're baiting Victor and TWC again. I wondered how long you could resist. Not very, apparently :(

My school competes successfully in kickboxing, MMA and BJJ, so in the put up or shut up stakes I don't feel we have anything to prove. Wins against a wide range of styles prove more, I think, though it's mostly about individual fighters rather than schools.

I sense an ulterior motive here and a motivation beyond simple fellowship and learning.

Wth???? This isn't some kung fu movie where you challenge another school and when you win you get to break their sign over your knee and put yours up.

This is the truth. You will find great fighters in any style. ;)
