A friend of mine has taken up boxing after thai boxing for about 7 years.
I'm thinking about asking him if he wants to spar on a regular basis. It would very much be my learning curve as all I have is TKD traing from a long time ago, and about 2 and a half/ 3 years kung fu training.
I figure it would be a really good thing to improve my fighing skills, also he is a really close friend of mine so he wont completely kick my ass.
Good Plan?

Watch out for the jab. Its fast and it can hurt.
How would the transition go? Wouldn't he have a hard time NOT kicking?

What do u mean, when he is boxing because of his thai background?
Interesting one, I'll ask him.
I don't know why he changed , thinking about it, he said boxing offered the chance for more oraginsed fights, which he is into.

Yes, because of his Thai boxing background. Lots of kicking from what I understand.
Good luck to him nonetheless.

I didn't have any trouble stopping kicking when I went to boxing, but I did have trouble keeping my knees checks and elbows out of it, the latter especially when hooking.
