which thread? MonkeySlap's? I responded to his comment - because he's on his soapbox again and I could tell where he was headed. look, i don't know where you guys are getting your definition of nazi from, but deleting porn and highly no relevant posts or moving them to more appropriate forums was all I ever did.

Of course, some would complain that they figured that the main kungfu forum was a lounge, a hang out and a place to post all sorts of nonsense that people had to wade through in order to find a post or two that covered the topic of Kungfu.

I still think there are a lot of people dumping flotsam and jetson into the forum all the time, but it's not really my concern any more other than being a member here.

People can say stupid stuff all day long here, just as long as it's stupid stuff about Kungfu and not about Britneys new fake husband, tard blogs, rap lyrics et al. Man, it gets over the top. Never mind the I hate Bush threads that Red5 is always posting and the Join the KKK now threads that Ross is making everywhere.:p

I think that instead of banning mods though, they should be physically chalenged to a death match, to be held on the planet vulcan with bones as a ref. the winner gets the pointy eared chick and the gig as a mod. sound fair?

Well, we've reviewed the situation, and while we all extend our sympathies to ED about his mother, the comment from Sevenstar was made in the context of a mamma-name-calling thread, and although OT, it has more of a tone of casual chiding than malice. If casual chiding offends you, this forum is no place for you.

Sevenstar and Kung Lek have both performed well as moderators. You have no idea the amount of stuff they do behind the scenes. We certainly appreciate their contribution to the forum.

Thanks gene, although I don't moderate on these forums anymore, I would like to say that Kungfu magazine has my full support and recommendation.

When people ask me what to read in regards to Kungfu should they want to learn more, I immediately direct them to this site, the ezine and of course the paper publication.

If people are looking for goods for their martial practice. Providing it doesn't fall into some overtly specialized and a likely outrageously priced category, the answer is MAM and Tiger Claw.

To the people that are tasked with moderating a forum such as this, you have my tip of the hat. YOu are now getting knowledge of what it is to be supported for your opinions and actions as well as being berated for those same functions! Now that's some learning and how you do things is actually effecting you on a very personal level even if you are thick skinned and have a cavalier attitude towards things.

This forum is a vehicle of human interaction. It offers itself as a benign place where you can be a voyeur to the discourse of others or you can participate in full anonimity or asn yourself.

Absolutely fascinating and incredible opportunity to learn about yourself and others through the direct experience that is communication with each other.

10 years ago, this way of interaction was not as available to the general populace as it is now. It is in and of itself becoming a great equalizer much like television has become.

KL is right - the forum is an incredible new media - it's informative but not to be taken too seriously. I can't even fathom how some people get cajoled into meeting sexual predators over forums. I don't want to hear any tales about that from this forum. But as for being insulted by others, some people read waaaaaay too much into what others spew out casually and then forget. As most of you know, I've been told directly to **** off many times here (in big, bold capital letters no less). That must be taken in stride, after all, it's only a forum. If that sort of stuff gets you down, how to you cope with the occasional ass-kicking everyone receives now and again, when they push themselves hard in the martial arts?
