ok, don't expect a lot of 'mantis'. Keep in mind that my history began with 7 years of hung gar and until last year was a mix of another southern 5 animal style, long fist, arnis and some mantis from a questionable source.
Both Danny and John started learning the 5 animal system I was teaching and have been learning PL for 10 months now. So, no big mantis fighters here.
What I wanted to illustrate is the level of sparring we have for beginners.
Danny: 20, with me for a little over 2 years. There's vid of him doing forms on the "Video" page of my site. He's got more time in sparring than anyone else I have but he's very resistant to sparring hard, just not in his nature.
John: 17, with me for right at 2 years. Very fast on the two person drills but you don't see it in these clips. John has had about 3 months of sparring training.
This was the first time either of these guys had sparred since mid March....been working on forms.....
So, this is what I call 1/2 speed and 1/4 to 1/2 contact.
