Hello all Wing Chun brothers and sisters,

It is Thanks giving and xmas season. Disregard where you are in this world. I have a proposal to make.

That is about let us, just bring a few dollars to the elderly home, orphanage, or homeless shelter which is close to where we live. even if it is just a single dollar or a few cents but bring it there with our heart of caring is great.

Spring Means hope, warm, caring, and grow.

I think if we all do this SMALL LETTLE TRANING with our kids or family visiting the less fortunate after a year of WAR, SARS, FIREs, Lossing Jobs........ we start Spring early in this Winter. We sure contribute to a better world next year. Because we all help each others with care.

Let's make next year is a great year for everyone. It is care that make world different. Let's everyone praise the spring. Best Wishes.

Great power comes with great responsibility.
Great martial art system comes with Caring for the less fortunate.

Just somethought what do you think?

Hendrik-

Although I second your proposal, a question in return:

shouldn't the activities you are proposing have a more of a year-round character?

what do YOU really think?

Both my family and My Sifu's academy have a long tradition of generous donations to charity during this season and at other times.

But if your proposal makes a difference in the community at large, that's good.

BTW, we are not brothers.

I think once we have that caring heart. then the rest will go automatic.

and Warmness in a Cool winter contrast more. So it is a great time to start since everything has a begining. This years brought lots of negative to lots of us. and by ignite a single match from every one the world will warm up and give us positive. and positive always will snowball positive.

Just my thought. I can be wrong. please let all of us warm up our world with the effort we feel comfortable.

Hendrik-thanks for the timely suggestion- will reinforce my patterns of giving in the US abroad and even to animal shelters...
remember King Asokha?BTW- Ip Man's brief calligraphy on Wing Chun also emphasizes the use of wing chun for defending the weak. Not as specific as sharing financial resources but still part of a normative ideal.

PS. Paul H likes quotations-AN can do without...and Ernie like to hear more about punches...still--

May I set the stage? I shall impersonate a man. Come, enter into my imagination and see him! Bony, hollow-faced... eyes that burn with the fire of inner vision. Being retired, he has much time for books. And all he reads oppresses him... fills him with indignation at man's murderous ways toward man. And he conceives the strangest project ever imagined... to become a knight-errant and sally forth into the world to right all wrongs. No longer shall he be plain Alonso Quijana... but a dauntless knight known as - Don Quixote de La Mancha!

For sheer madness or Joy, "Onward to glory, go!" Ha! Ha!

As for me, I am a low key clown. The world can use a few laughs. Let Don Quixote got all his just and due rewards for the gallant deeds. I just quote along for the ride. Much safer this way. Ha! Ha!

"I'm Sancho, yes, I'm Sancho
I'll follow my master till the end ...
I'll tell all the world, proudly,
I'm his squire ... I'm his friend. "

Regards,

Sancho "Pual"

Joy,

Sure, King Asoka is great.

Two months ago, one of my monk friend visited Nepal.

When he came back he told me some family there live with less then $5 per month. and kids has no clothing..... So, we don't want to contribute to build more temples and giving to monks... we need to help the kids...

With what we have. We are living in heaven compare with Dad and mom have to work and only bring back less then $5. usd per month.

hope that somedays we all live with abarndon and don't have to be poor.

ERnie- I finally enjoyed the IKF article on Gart Lam's use of the pole.

BTW- some years ago...when an assistant of mine was threatened by a group of 5-6 persons(in a different town)... a shorter pole in the form of a cue stick came in handy in keeping the group appropriately at bay!!
Good fortune- they didnt have a gun.
