The pictures indicate something that approximates some genuine teachings, and I knwo how shallow this next sentiment may sound but I can't help it...BUT....anything that has Kumar Frantzis's name near it repels me. I think he is a bad name for martial arts (well internal ones anyway). He is a poor advert for internal martial arts and I cannot understand why so many flock to him when genuine masters exist in this world today.

Yes Bruce may of just wrote the forward but why on earth did the writer allow him to? Doesn't show some kind of kinship and allegiance, or at the very least outright endorsement??

Writing a forward does not necessarily imply any relationship.

I don't know about this particular case, but sometimes the publisher or editor rather than the author requests a third person to write the introduction or a review "blurb" to appear on a book or in advertising. I've been asked to write blurbs by publishers even if I'm not personally acquainted with the author.

Though it doesn't say so on the book, the publisher's website identifies Kumar as the translator. Since this book came out in 1992, prior to any of Kumar's own books being published, I can imagine that he might have taken on such a job at that time. If that is true, I imagine that it was why he wrote the introduction.

I just feel sorry for the author of the book. You 've heard of the death touch haven't you, well having Kumar do your forward in the book is likely to have a death touch on the poor authors sales. He just leaves a bad taste in a lot of people's mouthes whever his name crops up. It's not a particularly worthy thing to be mentioned in the same breath as him I feel.
